I've gotten sick and tired of having all these little sub-assemblies taking up space on the bench, so I decided to start sticking everything together.  Naturaaly I had to add some details along the way- right, Fritzi?

amazing as always chuck...i was just wondering how to do the trim tab linkage and have now found my solution...keep it up.... 

Great stuff, Chuck, and even without the green eyed beauty's invite, I'll be waiting with baited ...er...breaths for the next installment.  One thing, I don't know if it's just my computer, but 3 photos, 404,405, and 406 didn't open...hope I din't miss the meaning of life or something as important.

Sorry the kit OEM canopy is such a mess. 

Don't suppose you'll just whip up a soldered brass frame and scale rivets, then cut individual clear panels to be mounted in the frame to correct the situation---------Nah -----are you????

Don't suppose you'll just whip up a soldered brass frame and scale rivets, then cut individual clear panels to be mounted in the frame to correct the situation---------Nah -----are you????

He might do just that! And scale locks and latches to lock the canopy in place for flight.

I'd be definitely curious as to how he solves the canopy issue.

Will wonders never cease? Keep up the good work and don't let Fritzi get too far away. I will be waiting for my next fix.............

been gathering dust.  I've finally gotten a bit of time at the bench, and I give you sturm, drang and a pair of highly-modified parts.  Cheers, mates!

Beee-utiful work Chuck, is there a certificate to be had for all those that complete your class!? As a side note, I've discovered that my old answering machine was a nice source of wire & various bits & pieces. My wife couldn't figure out why I was pulling the guts out though!

Thanks, my friends!   Sometimes little found items are the way to go- I'm pretty notorious for picking up weird, shiny things from the sidewalk.  I have boxes of junk bits, little drawers filled with disassembled lighters (full of cool parts)- even razors have interestingly-shaped components.   It's a mania, what can I say?

Looking good Chuck, a question though about the tailwheel doors. After setting up the masters with the aluminum, why did you not just use these metal pieces? Did Pfennig demand plastic? Just curious,

I was going to ask the same question.  Styrene will adhere to aluminum with some CA (try Guerilla glue brand - incredible stuff)

Maybe he's planning on mass-marketing the vac-formed tail wheel doors to pay the bills... he must be skipping work to keep this project going!

Thanks, guys!  I made the doors in styrene to insure a good, solid bond.  Plastic welds to plastic, but CA has weak joins and will pop right apart under shear stress.  The last thing I want to bugger around with is constantly fixing little bitty parts.  On my morning drive I was sudden;t struck by regret of not having make the retration horns in plastic as well, like on the tail surfaces.  There's always next weekend, I guess!
