Jim Barton:
... But what does Waffen Farbe mean?
Ich gebe meinen Senf dazu-I'll add my two cents (as an old German teacher).
A good translation is "arm of service color". For example, Andrew Mollo chose to translate it that way in his "German Uniforms of World War II". It's actually a contraction of "Waffengattungfarbe,", "Waffengattung" being "arm" or "branch of service", in the sense of "infantry," "artillery" and "cavalry".
The "weapon's color" would be rather "die Farbe des Waffen".
Chuck, the masks are fantastic! And do I see clearly-did you illustrate the instruction sheet? Ausgezeichnet!
Prost!
