Chuck you are the maestro for sure. That Light curing putty, looks different for sure. Ive seen it advertised but never taken the bait. Going to get some next time.

Is the 3M glue similar to or another variety of white glue, like Elmer's?

Good call on the spacer, too!  I've got a couple of the Monogram 1/48 P-40B under construction, and that kit suffers from a similar step where the nose/air scoop piece meets the front end of the fuselage-the fuselage pieces are pinched in a little.  Sprue to the rescue!

Once again it is amazing the thing I learn from just watching........looking forward to the next post already!!

Hey, Vtteman- your Laird is looking great- a real improvement on this old gem- cheers!

Duster, Mr S dries fairly quick- but when you blob it on it's best to wait overnight.  For thin smears you can just wipe over it lightly with a q-tip dampened with nail polish remover to remove the excess.  As I was filling a step I needed to let it harden fully.  As a amatter of fact I used Tamiya Light-Curing putty for the other slat base and that bit of styrene shim at the end of the aieleron cut out in the 14th pic

 A small question if I may?   When you "troweld" on the Mr Sufacer, how long would you let it sit before sanding /filing it to shape?   My experience is very limited with this product and to date not been all that exciting - my Japanese is limited to 0 so reading the label has been a lost cause.

Regardless, thank you again for your extra effort showing "the possible" to us.

Chukw now my Sunday evening is complete again, I was really missing your posts. I have been learning quite a lot from them and have been entertained at the same time. Last night while waiting for some paint to dry on my newly started decompression build I was browsing this page. I should have not been doing that while starting a new build, so I hold you at fault The kit is an old Hawk Testers Laird Solution, NO cockpit detail at all. So I added a floor, seat, IP, and rear bulkhead, waiting for glue to dry and looking at this thread again. Oh no now I am adding the side wall truss on both sides and making some semblance of a throttle quadrent. Well you can guess what happened, althou not up to your skill level by any means its my first try scratching a cockpit. Well. it's been a whole month!   We've had a family visit, spent two weeks in beautiful Alaska, been busy at work, fixed a leaky toilet and more in the meanwhile.  I even got a bit of work done on the ol' 410- Fritzi and friends will show you exactly what has transpired since our last visit...

Thanks, guys!  All is well- I've had family visiting, spent two weeks in Alaska (vitually no internet!) and work has been mega-busy.  I'm working on a small side project, but the 410 has been progressing- even if just in wee bits.  I'll be posting Sunday evening though- so stay tuned!
