Okay, I've officially started my HO.

1:72nd scale has become smaller in the last 40 years.

This will be fun, although 1:48th scale is easier with my declining eyesight and fine motor skills.

...alright!!!!! another Ho in the making.....you know that cockpit tubing and seat look so much like the Dragon its kit its scary.....one good thing I see right off the bat is that you wont have to deal with that weak joint where the nose cone joins the body....and you should have a nice seam. Keep posting pics!!!

Oh...by the way...1x or 1.5x reading glasses...best thing since CA debonder!

I found a 1:48th HO229 on evilBay.  Price seemed reasonable, NIB, etc.  Will give it a try too.

Seems weird actually posting photos of a WIP on this thread.  I'll be going back to look a shots from previous WIP's.  That's the closest to "hand-holding" I can tolerate. Wink

Is it's radar profile as efficient as that of the HO229?  How many 30mm cannon rounds doe it carry?  Otherwise, I don't care.

What did I miss?

The usual.  Crime, chaos, riot, dogs and cats living together, unreadable instructions from DML, lame puns, no photos of Vance's HO229 WIP.

The usual.

What's new with you? Big Smile

This one.

Probably in over my head, but I'm a terrible impulse buyer.

Nice, I was going to start my night fighter, but someone distracted me with a "How I Won the War GB". Once the P-36 and F-14 are done, it'll be HO time!

That's a sweet kit that can be mastered if you know its weaknesses.  As far as the nose, add some scrap styrene bracing to strengthen the join---fill in that ficticious canopy rail opening on the spine w/ putty...etc...ask as you go along...

PS: who has the gadget?

Horton in the Sky with Rhinestones (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds)
Picture yourself in a thread on a forum
With olive-drab tanks and a rubber-spine device
Somebody calls you, "MOJO", you answer quite slowly
A girl with an optivisor eye

Celluclay flowers of yellow and green
Priced waaaaaaaaaay over your head
Look for the girl with $229 in her purse
And she's gone

Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Aaaaaah

Follow Jeff down to a bar by the mall
Where mocking people give him the eye
Everyone smiles as he walks by your stash
That grows so incredibly high

Plastistrut Zuihos appear on the shore
Waiting to take Jeff away
Climb on the deck with his head in her ***
And he's gone

Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Aaaaaah

Picture yourself in a courtyard dio
With resin-wheeled wagons and cat-hair for hay
Suddenly someone is there at the corner
The girl that will blow Jeff away

Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Horton in the sky with rhinestones
Aaaaaah
Horton in the sky with diamonds
Horton in the sky with diamonds
Horton in the sky with diamonds
Aaaaaah
Horton in the sky with diamonds
Horton in the sky with diamonds
Horton in the sky with diamonds...
