As some of you know, I buried "Wally" aka The Walmart Wonder A/B. Replaced with a combo A/B and compressor from Harbor Freight. This is my best friend!!!!! I don't care for the clean up process, but it's worth it!

Spent yesterday painting, now I wanna repaint everything I have on the shelves!

It looks much better in person!

WOW...I want to kick Wally's @$$ now...Angry

...very nice panel line (pre-shading?) detail and the shade colors look great!  IndifferentYesYes

"Wally" was a JACKASZ!!!! I hold no feelings for him, I do not miss him, he was stabbing me in the back, all this time....what a jerk!

I sprayed the base color as it is out of the bottle, then lightened and hit in between the lines, then a super thin coat of the same lightened paint over all. No preshade.

I would have sworn that was preshade. I guess the new AB is doing you well huh? Wally is dead...long live the king.

I propose that we dig Wally up, draw and quarter, then burn him...

Fermis, the process you described has much in common with the preshading by the book, especially if your base coat was darker than the top color. Glad to hear about your new AB, good tools are SO important! I transited to Paashe VJR from a so-called "Russian" AB about ten years ago, and it sure made a difference - but I kept the "Russian" and it still is handy from time to time for painting large surfaces. Good luck with your build

Fermis I hope you don't mind me playing with the photo.  Looks like some weird color shifting in the 1st pic and the topside color look funky.  I tried to match the background with the other pic since the underside looks good.  Still look brownish.  Is it still off?  What colors are they?

Really like the faded panel effect.  I do that too.  WAY easier than pre-shading.  Nicely done.

Finished!!!

RLM65/70/71

I could have saved a ton of time by cutting my own masks. As thin as my coats of paint were, them masks bled like a suminubitch. BOOOOOOOO. Spent about 3 hours last night on the cleanup, what a pocket full of SUCK!!! I will be cutting my own masks on the next one. It's gonna just hang out in the stash for a while though.

The figs are from the Eduard set, just there for the photo op.

I think Fermis owns stocks in the company, he's trying to bait us all into buying one of these!! Must... resist... urge to buy....

Looks really good with everything opened up.

Awesome!  I have this kit in the stash and was actually considering moving it up in the pecking order pretty quickly.
