When did you sneak in the T-28 on this thread ?  Oh, I guess you did it on the posted date . Not sure how I missed it, but belated well done to you!

Here's another for the familia, a T-28A built from the Monogram Classics release in the late 90's.  I have an original release kit but that's for another time.  The fit was pretty good, just some filler on the left wing root.  I was a fun build and I even did the 3 figures that came with the kit.  No aftermarket, but the decals were no longer functional so I made new ones with an ALPS printer.

well, I finished up another Monogram build a bit ago, their F-84F Thunderstreak

Here is my Monogram A-1H Skyraider, with a few after-market bits. Paints are Tamiya Acrylic and Lacquer.

John, that a beautiful new P-51, and I love the photo with the two old builds. Nice to see how our skills advance over time.

Nice work on the F-86D, Omar, it's a beauty.

Carlos started with a P-51B, here is another, built from the original boxing.  The only filler on this kit is on the radiator inlet scoop, a dab of EpoxyClay.  The decals are from Mike Grant and replicate the markings on the kit decals, which were a bit frail after 60 years or so.  The tail number is different and the demarcation lines on the Grant instructions were a little different, but I built this one as close to the box art as I could.  The last photo is of a B I built about 1965 from the same kit, and a Hawk D from the same time.    The wing fit is not so good on the original B, it flew too close to the ceiling light for a year or so!  I have always thought Hawk did a great job capturing the D Mustang.  Dragon should have copied it for the 1/32 kit, and Trumpeter too.

This is Monogram's early F-86D, the one without the parapack. This is my first competed build of 2023. This was a gem of a kit. I would definitely love to build another. If you'd like to see more photos, check out my build thread in the Aircraft forum.

Nice! Now I have to ask, the WR tail codes on the F-4 and A-10 are most unusual for modelers and kit makers. Do you have a personal connection with that base or air unit?

 

Im an AirForce brat...  A goal of mine is to do 1/48 (1/72 for some) aircraft from all the bases my father was stationed. Bentwaters Woodbridge was his first duty assignment. Osan FE Warren Alconbury Holloman Fairford and Eglin/Hurlburt all in the works.  An Eglin F-15 is currently on my bench

That's one beat up belle tcoat. P38 looks great too. Brings back memories of one I was working on about 30 years ago (yikes),  with markings for Pudgy IV.  

 

The Belle was modeled to a very specific 5 seconds of the (mostly fictional) movie aircraft.

The AVG Hawk 81s were originally built for Britain, then diverted to the AVG. they were painted in US made Du Pont color equivalents to the RAF Day Fighter Scheme of Dark Earth and Dark Green over Sky.  Now depending upon who's research that you trust, the undersides were actually a light gray and not an exact match, but some say the color is closer to what became ADC Gray, while others say it is closer to what was used later on in Vietnam. I chose the later for the undersides

Stik, we're AVG P40s really painted Sky on the lower surfaces? I always assumed the earth brown color wS field  applied over standard medium gray/OD scheme. But, I Never really researched the matter...

I chose the later for the undersides, but the one recommendation to use  SEA Tan 30219 as the Dark Earth looks way too light to my eye, even compared to a faded aircraft. O, your P-39 came out sweet! Excellent work (as always) 

CB, yes, you should get back onto that P-40 and finish it up. I think that this may be the longest thread still active, but the never ending Fleet Air Arm GB from the old days was extremely long running as well and is probably in competuition for that honor as well. I still have yet to finish my Tamiya Sea Harrier... 

Great looking P-40 Stik. Now I remember I have that kit in a box somewhere all primed and ready to paint! Gona have to get it finished this year!
