Here's some more *hopefully* inspiration to somebody. Revell's 1/48 P-40B....built into a nice plane with some (a lot) of TLC and sanding. The heavy weathering was to hide a pretty bad coat of a flat coat gone wrong.

So, a little bird has gotten in touch with me lately and informed me that la famiglia has been looking to rise like a Phoenix from the ashes after the untimely disappearance of Don von Hammer. Reading through the thread a bit, it appears that Don Stik has been elected as the new Don. As a capodecima of la famiglia, I would like to give Don Stik my nod of approval.

Now, let's get down to business here. With the way things look, I might just have to give some support for this build. I haven't built much in the last year, and right now, I've got two room renovations and getting ready to welcome my first child into the world in early September. Until then, there will be lots of work ahead of me! As I said, I probably won't be building anything for this build, but it is nice to see some familiar faces (avatars) here, especially you Len, I hope that you get a bench back in order soon!

Thanks buddy! It`s been a while...hope you`re doing well!

I am doing well, thanks. I'll be even better after this baby stuff is all done with. She should arrive in early September so a good portion of my fluke season and the late striper season will be taken away from me this year. Oh well.. How is the house coming?

Yes, it's very good to see some familiar faces showing up again for this undertaking. Congratulations to you Swingr on the new family blessing due in a few months. I look forward to your return here to the family. As an established family member, your support for the new guys will be appreciated.

Okay, no problem. I can build two kits in a day... in my sleep. I just have to go find two that I haven't already built!

With no hard end date, I could get it in after I finish all my other commitments to GBs.

On my bench: Academy 1/35 UH-60L Black Hawk

Actually I think Hans came up with the name. He and I had been conversing back channel at the time that I started this thread. He was the one who ran the first two. But yes, the original "in" was two R/M kits completed in a six month time span of your own start date after the GB commenced. It was very much a spur of the moment thing due to the rather constant R/M bashing going on here at the time. And quite tongue in cheek as well.

In honor of the missing Don, I will run this in the same manner- no hard end date, two builds in a six month time span. Extensions may be possible for those needing them because we all know that life can throw unexpected events our way. Barring any unfortunate events to a family member or aspiring member, the six month rule will be firm though. July 4th still sounds like a good start date to me...

Did a little reading upon the history of the Monogram Mafia.  Apparently, the name came from DoogsATX, and the build time was 6 months.  The start time was anytime you wanted, but you had to complete the two builds in 6 months from your start time.  There was a cut-off start date, but that's arbitrary.

Me, I've got more Monogram kits than I can shake a cannolo at (yeah, cannoli is plural).

I wonder if Italeri was owned by Monogram?  Whistling

Of course... More than just wingy thingies please!!!

How about one Mono and one Revell!  Let's say Monogram 1/35 Army Jeep & Anti-Tank Gun (#6302) (1985) and a Revell 1/48 MiG 21 (#H-237) (1977).

Dats right wise guys... For all you new guys who wanna get made into da family, the price of admission is two builds... BUT, they can be in any genre... Ships, aircraft, armor, autos, space, other... It's just gotta be original R/M molding...

Pick two WW.... the criteria for participation has been two R/M kits built within the time period to be in the  Family ;-)

I'm in! Not sure yet the kit I will be tackling - but I think it will be something a bit different. Haven't done any real space or racing stuff in a while.

[Admiring Starbuck's space fighter] Cassiopeia: It's a perfect machine! Born to dance amongst the stars! Starbuck: Yeah, it's bumping into them that has me worried.

You should have been at AMPS last night. Good auction- there was lots of Braille Scale stuff and your name was mentioned several times when it was up for sale.

Of course there was lots of Braille scale there at AMPS! I wasn't there! Whenever I am there, they never have any Braille scale models in the auction. Oh well, it's a good thing I wasn't; I had no money to spend and what little I have available I have to save for my trip to Ohio.

The Fourth is okay, but I'll be starting late. I return from Ohio on the 5th so I won't be able to start until a couple days later, Provided I can find a kit in time......
