Nice looking Aussie Sea Venom you got there, NeedBeer!  Hard to believe that its probably a Matchbox repop!!!

This thread has made me view Revell/Monogram kits in a different way. I always thought R/M models as old-fashioned and non-cutting edge. They look awesome. Did you guys scribe panel lines? I see clearly recessed panels lines on many photos.

This one came in a Revell box (but suspect it is from an old Matchbox mold?) - straight out the box, this is my take on the RAAF Sea Venom. Its 1/32 scale, the shape looks good but the cockpit and landing gear are very basic, in fact primitive. Untitled by need12beers

Thanks! I got the decals from a Serbian company, Lift Here!, you can look them up online. Decals were really thin and took form very well with alittle setting solution.

Yeah, the NOVJ included air units supplied and trained by the RAF, and even had Hurricanes and Spits, if I'm not mistaking.

Here is my Monogram T-6 I have dressed up as a Harvard Mk. IIb, dressed in Partisan Yugoslav colors, circa late '44.

The decal set on the Jug are from Thundercals. I ordered mine from Spruebros. There are 3 sets in that series, I think, and 3 planes from the 58th Squadron, all with similar paint but different nose art.

Ok, I guess I like my latest enough to post it in this thread. 1/48 P-47D Razorback "My San Antonio Rose", flown by Flight Leader Capt Leeroy Chadwell of the 310th Fighter Group 58th Fighter Squadron. It saw action in Saipan, New Guinea and Okinawa to name a few.

I have the Medallion Models sets to backdate the Monogram Wildcat into a -3. One of these years I'll get around to it....

I put a Medallion Models resin and etch set in the Monogram Dauntless and it made that kit as good as the Accurate Miniatures kits that came out a couple weeks after I started mine.  I also got the set for the Me-262.  Of course that was almost 20 years ago so it may have turned to powder by now.  The way I'm building these days I'll be powder before I finish something ; 0

Reasoned

Wow, some very impressive, high detailed builds in here. This got me thinking, it is evident that there is much less AM (e.g., masks etc.) for these classic (and very plentiful) Revellogram kits.  I guess they figure if the modeler is "serious" enough to put in the extra work, he will only be buying the Ed-Hase-iya kits (excepting of course a few Pro Modelers).

Well ya gotta remember that most of these kits came out before AM existed. Before the Promodeler line, Monogram had their "Hi Tech" line, which came out early in the PE era, that was essentialy some of their kits with a PE fret to dress them up. Eduard did do sets for many of the older Revellogram kits, and other companies did as well- Verlinden, Medallion Models, Model Technologies, etc. And until the past 5 years or so. Many of the Monogram classics were the only game in town for their subject in that scale. Some still are.

I've noticed that too Reasoned.  I love my Revellogram kits, but sometimes I want just a little bit more in the cockpits.  Just not much out there for them.
