the interior received a quick wash to offset the interior green.. I wasn't able to get good pics.. so.. here we are now... [Close up of rear gunner's deck :550:0]

the spine split is intentional at the moment.. it will be closed up and card stock used to fill in the gap around the pilots rear wall.

I was wondering how the DD in the water would handle the extra weight of the Kingfisher model - would that make it too "tender" or top-heavy? Although being plastic/resin I guess it's not THAT much extra weight. It's just that it sits up so high ...

Ahh - I recognize that "if I sit here and stare at you long enough you'll become uncomfortable & leave" pose! Kingfisher interior is shaping up nicely.

well.. a small update... the single piece lower wing had to cut in two to fit in the fuselage , the resin bits overfilled the wing holes.. , so I split it and cut it to fit...[View:/themes/fsm/utility/:550:0]

The aircraft crane was not one of those efficient derrick affairs that cruisers and battleships had, but a kingpost and cargo boom.

That Revell (Revell of Germany) and Revell USA (Revell/Monogram) are two different companies.. They don't talk to each other anymore...

Modern RC has been a big advance over my old Lindberg Destroyer's CAM pattern guidance system.

Any chance of loading up the "ash cans" with "Na" and doing anti-sub "spreads" ?

Might get a few fish from the effort.

well,, some progress over the past few days.. some gixmology going on to...

first.. Port side rear cockpit , and the deck, with some wiring added with armature wire...:550:0]

[Starboard side rear... side wall.. and you can see the resin nose..:550:0]

some more wiring added .....:550:0]

with some green Zinc Chromate:550:0]

[starboard...:550:0]

Would be neat to build an rc model to launch when it is on the water. There have been 1/72 scale rc models built. Check out this link. Great work on the Kingfisher

well.. the guy I'm building the Kingfisher for.. also has a sub.. it dives and runs on the surface etc,, radio controll.. maybe he can "salvage" to.. lol

Just make sure this one doesn't end up at the bottom of that lake - sounds like a diver's paradise down there now!
