I love your Platypus and want to build mine soon too!
On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister
The progress on my MIG is going okay nearly at the painting stage faster than I thought I would be. Have not decided on the Air Force I will use though, the tails have been glued the tape is holding the parts shut and the tail wings too. It's not the best looking MIG that's for sure but it's one I have not got so it's welcome in my collection. As you can see I removed the flaps and leading edge flaps to position them down to add interest to the kit as for a 1/32 scale kit it is more like a giant 1/48 where parts count and detail is concerned, although you do get two complete engines that have significant detail but a poorly detailed cockpit a bit odd, that's why I had to scratch build much of the cockpit. I will get hold of the other camera again that I used for other pictures as the build progresses, but as for now these will do as there is not much difference between the last pictures I sent and these. Also if anyone knows of any cool MIG 29 paint schemes from the 80's let me know as I have Polish, Czech, Romanian, Bulgarian, East German, Russian, and Luftwaffe decals in my spares box and I imagine the stencils were relatively the same if not language then at least in position and number though I'm probably wrong about that. But if you see any unusual or just great paint schemes give me a shout I'd appreciate it.
I like the schemes the Ukrainian Air Force uses for these MUGS...
Ah yes me too, Will have a look
Nice fulcrum Dean !
Vance wishing to see the 177 before the 34
here some previous work done on the two russian, both have full scratchbuilded cockpits and the same type of resin ejection seats from pavla
Mig 31 revell (the zvezda reboxed)
As the mig-25 is a little large plane , here an old family portrait with unfinished 177 on the left and the super etendard on the right
some cockpit build step
Actual state before the primer
The SU-34 is the italeri kit
large plane too!!
Some step about the cockpit:
and actual state withouth primer :)
Tomorrow hope to resume works
That's really great detail in the scratch building, are you going to make the kitchen for the Fullback?

Now we're talkin'...bsyamato, that is some crazy-good scratching on the pit! Was the kit pit that bad???
default.htm
No kitchen Dean.. i think is a legend :D on the back, after the entrance door is full of avionics/weapons machinery .
Manny, both kits was low and wrong about cockpits details
the mig-31 also had decals for instruments but was out of dimension for the pieces to place on, ejection seats in a single piece
the 34 had at the end acceptable ejection seats but wrong all the remaining pieces, back bulkheads too wrong.. so i brought six k-36 from pavla and resolved (a two seater mig-29 i have too in the stash) the ejection seats.. for the rest resolved with evergreen stuffs gears need only some adjust
here some update
mig-31
the remaining details on inner fuselage
primed and added rudder pedals .. i forget to put before
the su-34, macro pictures shows some needed refine work! cloches are from the kit with some extra detail
Outstanding work on that pit Bsyamato! How many hours you put in to that?
I wish it were true about the kitchen lol would have been like a flying camper van
A flying camper van that kills... the perfect thing for holiday!
Lol yeah I saw a video of one of those suspended by chains firing all of its weapons into a muddy verge. Looked dangerous.
possession tax are too high for this camper :D
btw the low zone just after the door are to allow pilots to stand up during long missions.. i cannot exclude at least a coffee express machine
Nice video Dean!
here a shortest about the su-33

Updates on the Su-34 canopy
Draw ,sanded and added inner frames structures
I found a picture of the option that you get OOB I was initially going to ignore this until I saw just how badly weathered the paint is so this is what I will do the kit with OOB as it certainley looks like it can be an interesting scheme, not the paint but the damage that,s been done, I will be trying to highlight panel lines until Christmas for gods sake!
Dude! I guess there are no weed-eaters in Russia? Or goats, lol?
That MiG could use a paint job.
"All you mugs need to get busy building, and post pics!"
That's what defense spending cuts will do to an Air Force...
That, and parking them outside all the time regardless of the weather...
And pouring vodka on them...NOW GET BACK TO WORK!
