Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dunno what to say.......................

Thanks! Distractions aside, Here's the latest on this fun little build- take it away, Hannah!
Thanks for the new installment, Chuk. On the spinner, did you use a maskol type product to make the chipping or was it done by brush?
I'm really enjoying this build! Great work.
Seeing double is a good thing...when it comes to wings.
Wow Chuk! The gals are lookin' great, all three of them!! Oh, that Hannah and Fritzi!!

"All you mugs need to get busy building, and post pics!"
Keep at it, Chuk. I am always looking forward to your updates.
I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

Building the perfect model---just not quite yet
Always love following your builds............and the girls.
Coming along nicely!
"Whaddya mean 'Who's flying the plane?!' Nobody's flying the plane!"
Thanks, guys! Ernie, I do my chipping with a finely-pointed brush and Vallejo Dark Sea Grey. I'll be doing a bit of overspray with thinned base colors to knock some of the chipping back a bit, and adding fresher scrapes and bangs with graphite and silver pencils. The idea is that the older chips get dusty and oxidized.
I hope to get the camo on this weekend- and maybe get a start on the matching Kubel as well. ;)
Well, we're waiting to hear from the vet on our sick dog. I've been trying to keep busy- so here goes.
Slick solution to a "sticky wicket".
But now for my "its not dumb to ask a question" question; do you sand/file the white out with a very fine pad/stick ,as you would a "normal" filler after it drys?
or is it wiped with a thinner type product before it completely dries? just leaving it in the seams.
ps good luck on your pups report.
Good question, Duster! Sand it with a fine grade- rougher grades will just pull it all off. BTW, get the smelly (non water-based) Stuff! Thanks- we're still waiting to hear about Andi, but things are looking a bit better.
Thank you, chuk! You taught me some good tricks.
Lee
Hope your dog is better!
Very entertaining and informative. Can't wait to see more!
DD
Hey Chuck, about the white out, is there a solution that you have found work with it, so I can apply it and wipe off excess filling the seam? As opposed to dry then sand.
I wouldn't try that- it dries so quickly there would be a raised "lip" around the edge of the white-out. Really, I use this technique because it can be done so quickly, it hardly interrupts the painting process. :)
Here's an update at last! Andi seems to have recovered and is back to full health, my job is hopping and my wife and I are well. That said, things do keep cropping up and modeling has to take second fiddle- and posting plays trombone. I had to cut this update short- look to the last pic for a teaser of where I am now. ;)/>/>
Keep em coming Chuck! Glad to hear your dog is doing better. Love seeing your work and method of delivery.
Very glad to hear that things are on the upswing for you , chuk. And thank you for the excellent update.
Thanks, guys- Andi says thanks, too!
I think I can call this plane done. Of course I'll have to add a fresh oil streak here and there- as I build the diorama base. Updates will continue!
What a great job on the build, Chuk, and what a novel way of keeping the nose on the
ground! Thanks for sharing your work with us.
Best Regards,
Ernie
Wow, fantastic build as always Chuk and very informative to see a master at work. The "cancer" in the thread line caught my eye and really hit home. I lost my mother to lung cancer about a week ago, God bless.
Science is the pursiut of knowledge, faith is the pursuit of wisdom. Peace be with you.

Its always such a treat to experience one of your builds Chuk. Thanks for taking the time to do them!! As usual, just a stunning plane!!
Eric
Thanks, Gents!
Reasoned, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I lost my father to cancer twenty years ago, and a dear friend just last month as well. I'm proud to say we raised over 1,300 bucks witha simple group build. Maybe all forums should do this periodically. Hmmm....
I do have a three-day weekend and hope to get some board time in- stay tuned, and thanks again!
chuck Well Done. The "tone on tone" has realy brought life to the project. Bet its even more impressive in real life.
Good to see your dio idea starting to take shape. should be a real treat; will there be a WIP on it?
Well, a scrubble behind the ears to Andi and a Good Memorial Day weekend to you and yours

Thanks, Duster- you bet we'll keep this post rollin', and here's Andi to show you what we've been up to!
It's Memorial Day and the girls are attending services for the fallen, so my dog Andi is keeping an eye on Pfennig as we build our little Kubel. Read on!
Great idea for holding up the plane! Something different without fooling with the nose weight.
That's another great use for those "cheapo" make-up sponges, too. I've found numerous uses for them on my workbench, from wiping the rim of the paint bottle after opening it (a lot less messy than napkins) to using them as small cushions for painted parts that I don't want to scratch.
Thanks, Jim, me bucko! I'm looikng into compressing the d@mmed springs and turning the front wheels. I have some crazy idea that I can drill and sink wires, then cut just the plastic and reposition. Time alone will tell! I'm not sure what I can get done this weekend- gotta move a bunch of crap form my office before we shift the whole place up the road apiece. Gotta detail out th Spyder, too- it's going up for sale now that I'm driving this litlle whizz-wagen!
chukw Gotta dtail out th Syder, too- it's going up for sale now that I'm driving this litlle whizz-wagen!
