That's looking nice. Those decals certainly improved after being left. I need to get one of these as well.

I can see me coming home from the IPMS show in Orlando with a van full of new kits to build and this is one on my list if Ican find it therre. I love sea planes !

Rocker, no, I have no idea why matchbox did these multi coloured kits. maybe they thought it appealed to kids. Good choice on the Eduard masks.

I have had issues with fining paint dried up, and i can't point a finger at a reason for it. Sometimes its paint that's had thinner added, sometime it hasn't. Its happened to tinned enamels and acrylic in jars. I think the main factor is how secure the lid is on.

Troublemaker, i have been able to revive a dried up tin of paint on occasion, so i know it can be done.

What type of paint is it? Some people on theses forums would highly disagree with me but, I have reconstituted many a bottle of dried up paint and had absolutely no trouble at all. With Tamiya paints, I use 99% alcohol to get it nice and thin. On enamels, I use laquer thinner and them I pour the paint through a strainer to get any clumps out. At almost $4 for 1.5 oz. (Model Master), it`s worth the trouble to me anyway.

I don't have a photo to share, but I primed my Heinkel early this morning, and by mid afternoon the primer was dry. So I went downstairs to start painting...only to find my bottle of RLM 65 alllll dried up. I don't know how it happened, but in any case, I'll be hitting the hobby store tomorrow!

Bish I don't envy me either! Luckily I've purchased an Eduard mask for this kit, so it won't be as demanding (or cruel and unusual!). This kit was the first I've ever built where each sprue was molded in a different color plastic, I'm not sure why they did this back in the day, but it won't matter once I spray some primer on it. I'm definitely thinking of going with a green scheme, I've seen some models done up in a gray scheme, but I like the way the green looks better :)

Haha thanks troublemaker! I dig your profile photo- is that a Ki-46? I just picked up a Hasegawa one a few weeks ago. Here's a shot of the nose section- the two halves of the nose were a bit tricky to put on, so I placed the fuselage between the jaws of a large pair of hemostat tweezers on a mount and glued the clear parts on with the body of the aircraft standing upright. It worked and nothing fell off!

Looking good there rocker. I would say it would be nice to see some green on here, but seems its already in 70/71 colours. I don't envy you masking that canopy.

I can count my shelf queens on 1 hand.  This is one.  i was not up tot he task at the time.  So I will be living vicariously through your build.  Nice work

Man, I love this plane!  Not as much into the WWII birds as I used to be, but this one is something special. I'll be watching closely.

USMC, I know what you mean, I built their Chinook a couple of years back and I am glad Revell have kep[t there kits going.
