Looking forward to this build Toshi. Looks like an awesome kit and definitely an improvement over the ancient Revell kit from the 1960's.

I recall the old Revell kit and I must say that Trumpeter item is outstanding.  Thanks for the visit.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

It's coming along nicely Toshi.

I have been thinking about building the Trumpeter 1/32 Stuka with the Skis and also a JU52 (if I can find one at a reasonable price on Ebay)  both in heavy winter camo, so I'll be following your build with interest.

I always enjoy your ethusiasm.

Thank you sir.  I recommend the Trumpeter 1:32 Stuka.  Great detail and is a challenge to assemble yet, fun!  Purchase the Stukas on eBay as where the seller is in China.  It's usually cheaper, just watch the shipping and handling.

Thanks Toshi for your follow up on the painting and weathering.  I think I might try some of those weathering pigmenets.  Looks like fun.

No problem at all, it's my pleasure.  I highly recommend the Tamiya Weathering kits.  Good luck!

Thank you TempusFugit.  As I write this reply to you, I'm multitasking, while typing with one hand I'm building with the other.  The project is now complete.  Ya, right!  LOL!

Toshi

Now, now, take your time. Its a Stuka, it deserves all the time, love and attention you can give it. Wink

Words of wisdom, Bish, and good advice for any build, imho. But see, I thought that dinner time would have been taking his time. Now, lunchtime would have been rushing it, hehe!

TF

Yes, but you see, theres taking your time, and then there is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally taking your time.

Breakfast tomorrow will be just fine. Big Smile

Nice work there the Toshi, the engine is really comng along and loking good. I don't wnat to jump the gun here, but are you finished with the engine or do you have more painting to do.

Thanks Bish!  No, I still have a few more things I want to add to the engine.  Any ideas?

Toshi

You may already have plans for these, but just in case. The oil cooler on top, paint that steel. And the support braces and rear bulkhead, RLM 02. Apart from anything else, that will add some extra colour.

Thank you sir for the heads up!  Will do!

Off to a nice start on this one.  Looks like a fine kit, you should have fun with this build.

Mike

Thank you sir!  I think Trumpeter makes some great 1:32 kits on the market.  Personally, in my humble opinion of course.  As for fun?  I'm having a blast with the Stuka build.  The more complicated, the more fun it is.  Thanks for the visit!

Man Toshi, you were not kidding when you were going to start a 1/32 Stuka "soon".  And that was last week with we were talking on the Kingfisher thread.  Its Monday and your knee deep into a very complex looking kit.

All I got done was airbrushing the underside of a 1/72 B17Embarrassed

On your engine, did you hand paint it after primer or spray it?  And for the weather, is that paint or weathering pigments?

Scott

LOL!  I try to do my best, it does not always happen that way.  Look what happened to my BF 109, that took me two weeks to fix.  LOL!  As for the Stuka engine Jumo 211:

1) Primer with Rusroleum flat gray MAXX Cover.

2) AB Vallejo gun metal gray 70.863.  It looks more black than gray.  I noticed a lot of modelers use black as their base for the engines.  I chose this particular color due to the fact that there's tiny or just a hint of mettalic pigment to bring out the details as oppose to just black.  At the very least, I really like it.

3) With a brush, I'll hand paint according to the assembly manual to what color each part is suppose to be to the best of my abilities.

4) I hand brush Tamiya Weathering Pigments onto specific areas of the engine black or soot, engine mounts, oil covers, and especially where the exhaust ports are.

5) I'll go back and touch up what I missed.

Thanks for the visit!

Toshi

Note: I use Tamiya Weathering Pigment kit B and C, of which I utilize, soot, rust, orange rust, gun metal, and silver.

One thing I really like about following your builds, Toshi, is how fast they go! No waiting around for weeks at a time like some of us. Confused That engine looks great.

Always loved the Stuka for same reasons mentioned... sinister appearance and history. I will have to add one or two to my stash, and I think I can do so while sticking to my Finnish front focus. The Germans operated them from Finnish airfields for much of the war.

Yes, the Stuka is intimidating, I'm sure with the sirens attached to the Stuka, it made it that much more terrifying during dive bomb scenarios. As for my builds, I just do a little at a time as I have much time on my hands being retired.  LOL!  Thanks for the visit.
