Got some more bench time today!!!

Painting is done!

This is what I'm going for....

After a gloss coat and dose of hair spray, I sprayed a light grey...

I used some water and still brush to take away most of the paint on the wings...I got excited and went right back to painting without taking anymore pics, until the end.

Anyway, after the hair spray/chipping...I sprayed some more light grey, randomly, then moved on to the black.

One of the craziest schemes I've seen on a 111. Comparing it to the pic it looks like you nailed it.

Thanks again guys!

Been busy as all get out...which is a good thing, now that I work for myself! Gave myself a day off to get a little time at the bench!

Very little marking for this...masked and painted the fuse cross and "E"...

A little more paint with a tiny brush...

Glossed up too...for all two decals!

New honorific, "Master of Masking"  Holy cow I can't even do large area masking without bleed through no matter what kind of tape and how much I burnish

I don't really burnish the tape down, just a light press of the thumb. The key is thin paint (I know, seems contradictory), light air pressure, and just build the paint up slowly in very thin layers.

Very excellent demostration of masking Fermis. Extrordinary work so far.

After seeing this build, I was almost tempted to take my airfix 111 off it's shelf and bin it (In my defence, it was brush painted while at sea, and was one of the first models I've built). Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing when the masks come off!

I gave myself a day off, and a pair of easy/short days, so I could get in some bench time. Summer weekends get planned for me, so it seems....anyway...

Getting closer!

About ready to unmask, add some fiddlies, and finish it off!

Outstanding work as usual fermis, your eyes are a hell of a lot better than mine to work on that jeweler scale. I must say, the 111 airframe is the Spitfire of bombers.

Science is the pursiut of knowledge, faith is the pursuit of wisdom.  Peace be with you.

Thanks you, sir!

Still rockin the 20/20+!!!

And...I can't say that I don't agree with you on the 111/Spit comparison!

I got to get up close and personal with the one that was doing the airshow circuit a while back (before it crashed, obviously). It was the first I had ever seen or heard of the 111. Fell in love with it and wished there was a kit of it (my modeling world was very small back then!). Next visit to the department store...there was the new Revell kit...bought and built immediately!!! I'll have to dig a bit, but I know I have pics of the plane.

Yup...a griffon...only two decals on this thing!

Got 'er finished up, late last night.

It's only been 10 days shy of 3 months, since I've finished anything!!!

In the same time frame, previous to this, I finished 15!!!

Summer is dumb!

Anyway...
