F8K Crusader WIP 1/48 scale

Some really nice work on the crusader there Redstang! You know what I like too? The disaster area in the background known as your workbench. It reminds me of the one I used to have....looks like a bomb went off. LOL I working on getting another one set up. Your build really inspires me to get going friend. Thanks for sharing.

lol. I figured someone would point my work space out!  I'm gonna remodel my model room soon so hopefully lit won't be such a mess. 

Heck! Its perfect man. I would'nt change a thing. A man needs a few square feet in his own home to leave as he please without worrying about someone messing with it.

Outstanding paint work on a very cool scheme. I like it. 

I didnt get to post as quickly as I wanted too.  Been too busy working on models to spend time updating! 

Got the landing gear painted

And once the landing gear on the decals!

I did the detail work on the upper engine first.  I tried some new weathering techniques.  I didnt spend too much time here or worry about my paint being perfect because you really cant see it with the wing on.  I mainly used it for practice. 

So I was planning use bullpups on the plane because they look awesome.  I got the hasegawa set for the f4 phantom.  They are decent but there is no detail in the rear and a large seam line thats almost impossible to remove easily. 

I searched hi and low and the only picture I could find of the rear of the missiel is this one.  Note- it is for the smaller bullpup. 

So I was going to have a little creative license and install this in the rear.  I have no idea what it is.  Its from the spare box.

However after weeks of searching the depths of the internet I found this low quality picture of the caps on the rear of the missiles!  Again note it is the smaller bullpup. 

And I just realized I dont have any pictures of the caps being made.  You'll just have to wait till the done pictures for them.  Sorry.
