Its looking good, Philo. ...and big!

Yes,about a 24 inch wingspan!
OK since the wing roots have rather large gaps,I decided to try something a bit different.i recently bought a grab bag of K&S metal shapes, tubes and copper foil. The foil is thicker than Baremetal but thinner than Reynolds Wrap.Roofers use copper flashing to join a chimney to a roof to prevent leaks so I thought why not do the same at the wing root?I still have to use a bit of putty but the foil is thin enough to show some surface detail .I will not try to hide the texture but may paint black stripes in the wing root area.
I forgot or did not realize that this kit requires you to cut out the front of the cowlings and install the engine faces before the halves are joined together. So I used my dremel to drill out the front and turned the engines down to fit.I backed it with a dowell rod to mount the engine up.
The kits injection molded landing gear seems very sturdy. Looks like I added enough weight too!
Mounted up the radar goiter, jet engines, and taped and epoxied the canopy area.Next I have to zinc chromate the canopy followed by primer and gloss black followed bt alclad!
Wow!The Alclad gloss black primer is fantastic!Talk about a mirror finish!
Holy crap that hing is shiney! It looks like you just pulled it out of a dip tank. WOW
Yeah I know!Best black paint I have ever used!I did not even have to thin it!
Well, heck. That Alclad is going to look amazing with that undercote! :D:D:D
Yep!the 61 I did looks great too!
OOOOHHHH!Shiny!
Peeled off the window masks.Looks good!

Chrome plated!?!?!?!?
That's a heck of a finish on that big turkey! Seriously shiny lol!!
Yes sir!The Alclad chrome is choice!Much easier than BMF!
Okay Putting these NorthWest airliner decals on was a real bear!I had to cut the main decal into 3 sections to get them on.Unfortunately the decals had no guide so I had to search online for a airliner that matched.Found variations but not an exact match so I winged it.Still have to use Solvaset but must use great care;it is imperative that no setting solution gets on the Alclad so it must be carefully brushed on the decal only.
Put the decals on the underside of the wings.
Looks awesome!
Thanks!it did come out well.
Outdoor pic!
OOOH NOO MY EEYES!!!
That sinny looks perfect and great...Ive trying to make a perfect bare metal plane...but they come out dull and toyish....Im amazed for this perfect big metallic plane.
Congrats!
I didn't know the airliners had the jets. I thought they were for the tankers so they could keep up with the newer jet fighters.
The airliners did not have the jets, but I feared damage so I left them on.
Wow!I sure got a lot of positive reponses on all of the forums that I visit!
I can see why!
