Toshi,  becoming a master modeler is not challenging enough so you are adding master deal maker to the list. I'm glad this isn't a competitio.

I'm looking forward to the build.    gk

That figure looks good Toshi! He looks like he has some engine greese on his nose though. Mix up a little pink and dab the tip of his nose. Otherwise you have the basics, and some of the more advanced techniques covered already. Your blocking looks good, your colors look about right, your wash has all of the recesses in shadow. Yeah, nothing to be upset with here.

That's a good looking figure. :) Maybe some of my tricks are finding their way over there after all.  :D  Keep that up and you'll be producing some life-like pilots in... what? It takes you about 20 minutes to master a new technique....  Hmmm... have to account for napping..... maybe 24 hours. Yup. 24 hours and you'll be proficient at painting figures.  ;)

Get his nose fixed! He looks great!!  :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Oh my, I didn't think it was good at all, I painted the pilots nose, it looks much better.   Thank you so much for the feed back and thank you for pointing the nose out.  There is a second figure to be part of the trainer (aardvark) version, although this kit is not set up to do so.  I'll practice on the second figure.  Thank you so much for everything, I've learned so much from you!

Yes, I'll be fixing his face this evening.  LOL!  That's what I built, the two seater Revell/Monogram kit that I broke last month.  Although that kit cannot compare to your Tamiya aardvark.  What was cool is you can choose between the single or two seat trainer version.

That's too bad for me as all the extra pieces to build the two seater version is in my kit yet, the fuselage is designed for only the single seat Phiel.  Thank you for visiting my threads!

It's past midnight and I just finished part of the cockpit.  Thanks to M.Brindos, I was able to fix the nose of the pilot figure.  That's the first photo.  The second photo shows the instrument panel.  Tamiya provides a decal for the panel.  It looked too cheesy so I highlighted the instrument panel.  Below is what was done for the day.

If I don't paint the individual instruments and I use the ip decal, then I punch out each individual instrument with my micro punch set and apply it to the ip. Looks better than using it as one solid piece.

The Tamiya ip is very nicely detailed and can easily be painted.

Thank you for the tip, that's great to know.  Yes, I totally agree with you, the instrument panel is exceptionally well detailed.

Although this doesn't constitute much, it did take me all day to put together.  I was working on the weathering and highlighting.  I used some Vallejo and Tamiya Weatherine A, B, C, and F.  I still have to touch up the bomb.  I'm just waiting for the glue to dry.

Toshi, You're WIP is always inspiring to me. I just have to get into another build soon and forget about my failed attempt at the stringbag. Of course by the time I get back from a short visit to Crater Lake next week I expect you'll be nearly finished with this kit Big Smile. Your amazing progress on every kit you work on is a great impetus for me to get to the bench.

Toshi,

You are moving right along with this one.  Wish I was moving as fast.  I'm building this same kit for the 1946 Group Build, but am converting it to the B version with the heavy guns in the wings.  I'm also adding both engines and fuel tanks.

your work rate is amazing, thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much blkhwkmatt.  I don't think it's really about speed.  Currently I am on disability so I have so I have more time than money .   LOL!  Mrs. Toshi and I are now grandparents, so my time on the bench will be limited to the time spent between my grandson and bench time.  LOL!

That's a great start Toshi. I built the B version last year and absolutely loved it.
