Looks good so far Toshi. I can't get over the amount of stenciling that these things have.

Yes, it's crazy!

Mustang

The Academy B and J F-4s have close to 400 decals and stencils to apply. I stopped counting at about 380 or so.

Toshi

Looking very good as you breeze thru this one. Get yourself a couple of the Hasegawa 1/48 weapons sets and really load up for a mean and dirty look. Get herloaded up for some heavy duty earth moving detail.

You read my mind!  Mrs. Toshi and I were just talking about this last night.

Hi Toshi,

Is that some delamination under the left rear wing?  I had that on the kit I built and fought it pretty bad.

Coming along nicely! It looks like an A-10 with all the goodies under the wing. It's definitely loaded for bear!Toast

No, it's just bad lighting on my part.

I think I'll order some aftermarket munitions in addition to what I have now.  Thanks for the visit.

Toshi, if your are going to load up that F-18 with missiles and bombs, I suggest that you do some research on what load outs are available for the F-18. This link has some suggestions; but you need to verify them with other links.

To my fellow forum members,

As best as I could, I tried to pre-weather the Hornet by spraying black as a primer, then adding the base coat.  Unfortunately as you can see, I have failed in my endeavors to do so.  I now will post-weather the F/A 18 ever so lightly as all the photos I've seen online depict them in an almost pristine condition.  I will say that the Super Hornets are well maintained.

Also as a mental note for myself, there is much more to do and fix before I can button this build up.  I would like to add that Revell has done an excellent job in fit and finish on this particular product.  Price wise, it's cost is extremely cheaper than the rest of the 1/48 Hornets out there.  I can definately recommend this kit.  Thank you for the reads and replies, it means so much to me!

That is looking really good, Toshi. Whether your weathering weathers your work it will look just fine weathered the way you want, whether or not it weathers the way you intended.

LOL!  I still don't know how I will weather the Hornet wether or not if I will weather the Hornet.  LOL!  I might leave it as a clean build.  I'll have more of an idea after I apply the decals!  Thanks for the visit.

If I may be so bold to say so, I'm still shopping around for a munitions set for the Super Hornet.  I'll definately have this kit completed before I even order more AM munitions.  When I do, I'll definately let forum members know of the status of the F/A 18.

Toshi, you might want to go to Amazon.com and search for 1/48 US Aircraft weapons. You will still have to do some reasearch on what you want as a weapons load and what kits have what you want. I plan on purchasing most of them as I have several jets in my stash.

Looks really good Toshi, The biggest issue for me was the part where the nose joined up with the rest of the kit. It looks like you got it pretty squared away.

Here is what I have so far.  I still need to finish up with applying more decals and clean things up for preparation of some weathering and the final seal.

Looking great, Toshi!  :)

Thank you my friend!  This build being somewhat of a modern aircraft, has lots of decals.  I usually mess things up when it comes to this part.  It has become a kit of good exercise in decal application.  My goal is to utilize every single decal.
