Hey Toshi,

Your paint work is looking great, but I think there is something a little off with the fan. It should be enclosed inside the cowling, not protruding from it. Did you have any problems in that area?

What color green did you use for that?

Vallejo flat green 70.968 x3 and camoflauge olive green 70.894 x1.

Love Japanese A/C. This should be fun to watch.

I'm glad I can be accommodating for you as you show your affinity with IJN Aircraft like this Raiden as an example.  Thank you so very much for following this build, and your read and reply!

Toshi

I have a Hasegawa Zero 1/48 started and a Hasegawa Frank ad Jill in my stash. My only planes.

You sound like you are set up to have your own little IJN aircraft ready to go!  I'd love to see your WIP/finished Hasegawa 1/48 Zero!

Here is the completed Raiden and some of his 1/72 friends.  I still have another Raiden that I'm saving that for the Thunderbolt GB in October.  As always, having this be my first Raiden and my first Hasegawa kit, I've learned a lot of things that this community has reached out to me and taught me and I'm forever great full for that

I hope you enjoy the last three photos of Toshi's 1/72 Air Force!  I think it looks pretty thrilling!  I've never made 1/72 aircraft before until just recently, I think they're very cool and of course take up little space!

Not bad Toshi. Nice "little" collection of aircraft you got there. Thanks for sharing.

Looks good Toshi, quite a collection. Some of the 1/72 models pack as much detail as the larger scales. For example, the 1/72 ROG B-17 is actually better detailed than the older 1/48 brother.

I really like how your 1/72 fleet is growing, Toshi. You need something German in there now because that poor little Raiden is out numbered pretty badly lol.

What are you using for a final finish, if I may ask?

Thank you, you know how it is, you start with one and the next thing you know...

I didn't know about the ROG 1/72 B-17 having more details than the 1/48 B-17.  Is the ROG 1/72 B-17 the Memphis Belle?  Thank you in advance.

Yes, by leaps and bounds!  A German aircraft would look great with this set.  I think the other Raiden will be painted silver with American markings.  A captured aircraft!

As for the finish, I've been using the Testors Lacquer Gloss from a can.  If you noticed the raiden's wings, they have a strange ruffled hue to them and it's just a visual anomaly from the way the light affects.

I bought a new LED lamp and it's really bright.  I mean really bright.  Once I get the lighting dialed in, the fuffled hue should be gone as well.  So says the queen of photography, my duaghter.

The Tennessee  lady is an  F and the ROG is a G. The ROG has recessed panel lines and a super detailed interior . If you want the Belle, then get the Revell Pro Modeler F on Ebay (which is a F with parts for a G also) and looks to be like the same kit.

If you like bombers, also get a MInicraft B-24 with equally excellent details. Both kits even at 1/72 scale are still large.

Nice little collection you're building there. If your Raiden is feeling a little lonely, check out Airfix's Zero. It's a nice little kit for the asking price, which is very reasonable ($8.00 or less) online. Look up a review or two and see what you think.

Outstanding work Toshi..

Thank you!  I'm still learning and experimenting with different things if you noticed.  The Mustang invasion stripes are decals.  I should have painted them on.  But I'm still learning!  LOL!  Thank you for staying with me through these ongoing builds.  Some good, some not too good.  Your support is most appreciated!
