To my fellow forum members,
Originally, Mrs. Toshi was going to sell this kit on Ebay. You see, I ended up purchasing this kit for a ridiculously low cost. How much you ask? $52.00 including S&H. This kit retails at $120.00 but I've seen it on eBay for around the $100.00 amount. Give or take a few dollars. Instead, Mrs. Toshi told me to go ahead and keep it in my stash for me to build. You gotta love Mrs. Toshi. Don't worry, I already took care of Mrs. Toshi with her Valentine's gift. She'll love it! And it's a huge surprise for her.
For some strange reason, she is infatuated with something called Tsum Tsum's. She has a few but not the special edition Stitch collectors case. Stitch is from a Disney movie called Lilo and stitch. Hey, don't laugh, anything for Mrs. Toshi! LOL!
This will be the biggest P-38 Lightning I've ever built. I've done the Monogram/Revell 1/48 P-38 Lightning and my most recent build with AM Eduard Brassin PE set Academy 1/48 P-38 Lightning. Unlike that build, I'll be doing this kit as a OOB build.
In it's usual set up, Trumpeter sets there kit and box up like a high end Tamiya 1/32 kit. They are still not quite there yet but they are giving Tamiya a run for their money. All the spruces are in stapled plastic bags with a side insert box filled with special styrene/rubber pieces and PE. I just love these 1/32 kits. They always come with extra goodies. It's like a kid on Halloween night getting all that candy.
Within the kit box, you will find, a total of 362 pieces in 19 sprue, 3 rubber tires, PE for the aileron flap hinges, and metal pins for for the aileron shafts. This is the same type of set up that Tamiya uses. Other than what I have written, I know pictures will tell a thousand words.
Thank you fellow forum members for always supporting and visiting my WIP threads. Keep em' comming, all the comments good and or bad. I can only learn from this.
Toshi
