Yes, it's definately a nice kit.  I really like all the Trumpeter's kits.  They are well designed and the fit and finish is superb.  As for big, I have never built a single seat WWII fighter this size before!  There was a Trumpeter TBF Avenger I built but that's a three man crew so that don't count.  Thank's for the visit Bish!

Great lookin kit there Toshi. Just a thought...could you put a few small fishing weights in each engine to weigh the nose down?

Here is just one of the engines, I have to make the other one this evening.

I dressed the engine up with Vallejo Acrylics, Vallejo Weathering Set For Green Vehicles (A weathering set for armor), and Tamiya Weatherine Master C.

Wow!  That's very cool.  Thank you for the photo of the engine.  I was thinking of opening up the engine area.  I've never done that before so this should be interesting if I plan to actually do it.  It's a scary thought!  LOL!

OH Man, what a great kit  and I'm sure you'll do it proud in your capable hands.

I'm excited for you and will be watching with keen interest.

P.S. Something like this is in my near future now that I've had to get a job,due to          all the repair bills I've had lately...car,boat,house and Dr. bills. but I'll save          some for modeling for sure.

The job is a  cool one though and I don't mind doing security at the Daytona International Speedway. I was actually in the pits for the Rolex 24hr. race the past 4 days, so that's why I haven't been around here as much.

I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.

I don't pretend to have any particular mechanical knowledge but, to my eyes, what you've built looks like a real, working engine with just the right amount of weathering/grime to create that illusion. Fabulous!

This set up is exactly like the Tamiya 1/32 kits.  Examples like the Corsair, Spitfire, Zero, and the Mustang have this feature.

Here, I have sawed off the front half of the cowling.  The purpose of this process is to show off the engine, it's fine details, and the highlights/paint job I've done.

Thank you for the comment on my P-38 Lightning engines.  As you can see in the above photo that I had cut open and discarded the engine cowling to show off the work/process done.  It was quite the challenge as I've never done anything like that before in my life.  Disconcerting at best, scared as hell?  Yes!

Cutting up the cowling and hoping that I would get the results wanted was interesting at best!  I hope you continue to follow this build to see where it's going as I might make more changes throughout this building process.

To my fellow forum members,

I have completed or started something in that I've never done before in my life.  This process has scared the hell out of me!  LOL!  I even included Mrs. Toshi's thought process is on this action.  At first, she was completely and adamant in that she was against me cutting up a hundred dollar model.  Until she saw what I did!  She approved of my thought process.  I was to or had by now, cut out the factory molded cowling out.

My thought process of which I think I'm crazy, action is to show off the engine work that I did.  I had already dry fitted several items and am confident that this cut out will work.  My fellow forum members, tell me what you think of my process and give me your comments.  I'm extremely interested in what you think of this cutout.  Humbly yours,

Toshi
