Would be awesome if you do these if they were on the same ship at the same time. I always thought that the FA-18 would be the baby if the A-6 and F-14 had matted lol. Looking forward to this

Hi Fermis,

Cool !   I'll definitely be watching your artistry on this one.

Can I ask a favor of you ?   I have a Hasegawa Prowler that is about a 3rd completed.  She's been a shelf queen for a few years.  I cut the port wing at the seam and planned to scratch build the wing fold.  If you think of it as you're in process - any photos of the fold area would be greatly appreciated.

Got some progress on the 18...should say 18's! As well as the 14. When I get the 6 caught up, I'll get some pics posted...within the next day or so.

In the mean time...

Changing this to a Quadruple jet threat!

Markings chosen...

I did this one last year...

That's the Wolfpack wing fold set...it's a "plug-n-play" deal...perfect trade off to the kit parts.

There's a LOT going on in there!!!!

I've got a "cop-out" for ya though, if you decide you need it! I do have the extra kit wings, if you need em.

Started with the 18's.

Not a whole special going on with these.

The bad thing about these kits is that there's no intake trunk...just half a wall(where the gear bays are) not very far back in there.

So...FOD covers to negate that issue!

Heated up some sheet styrene over a candle and pressed it over the intakes...

Those have been cut to the proper size and set aside for now...we'll see those again later.

On to the 14.

For the nav lights and tail beacon, the kit provides these in clear parts...but Those parts never seem to fit nicely, so I didn't even bother trying. I heated some clear sprue, dabbed a bit of CA, and smashed the heated end into the slot.

I used a grinding bit to grind em down close, finished off the rest with sand paper.

Tail beacon got the same treatment.

And...the A-6.

Again, not a whole lot of special treatment.

The rear deck of the pit, however...is a bit simple.

(started cutting out the detail, then thought I should do a before/after shot!)

Kit part..

After modification...

As they sit right now...

18F...(color PE)

14...(brush painted)(this Aires pit was a NIGHTMARE to make fit!)

A-6...(brush painted)

I'll do the seats later.

Wow!!!

A project of mt own: VFA-2 flies F/A-18F riight now, and VF-2 flew F-14A back in the 1980s.

VA-115 flew A-6E in the 1980s, and as VFA-115 F/A-18E.

Chasing the ultimate build.
