Another dandy fine example of your modeling skills, Joe. My eyes are going bad, I keep looking for the problem areas you relate, never have found even one on the finished builds.

Thanks for the valuable info you keep giving us, I've learned a bunch from your WIP posts.

Patrick

Thanks Patrick.  I'm glad you find my threads useful.

I was peeking back through here to see some of the other posts and came across the bleeped out word in mine.

For the record, finescale apparently has a problem with the word "m-o-j-o." I stated you put the "m-o-j-o" on it. Not that other four letter word...which would've still been appropriate. That's a damn fine piece of work.

Ha!....Maybe they're not Austin Powers fans?

Hoss WA

That wasp looks great! Even though the kit gave you a few middle fingers, the end result is really nice. I like the camo scheme and the smooth and grimy finish. Superb as usual.

Thanks Hoss

I just noticed I forgot to add the clothes rack antennas under the rear fuselage. I'll add those shortly.  I also came to the concluson I enjoy being tortured and I need a Battle of Britain C model in 70/71 over 65 for myself.  I'll be getting started on that one soon. Let's hope it goes smoother! I'll post finished pics of that when turkey done.

Hi,

Very instructive and inspriring blog as allways.

I really like to follow your builds, already looking forward to your next.

Now just for my better understanding:

I have the C, #8201 and it actually comes with 2 sets of IP's:
One in (what seems to be) RLM02 and one in RLM66.

Instructions call out for cockpit interior to be painted RLM02 and use of the PE parts is optional, 14 (RLM66) or(?) 15 (RLM02).
Is this correct?

Very Best Regards
Svenne

Thanks Svenne. For the C model RLM 02 would be correct for the cockpit. They didn't change them RLM 66 until November of 1941. The instrument panel was apparently always in 66. Check this thread out  Very informative.

Killer looking bee LD! Awesome build. Beer

Have you used Solvaset on decals? I find Sol and Set not work as good as Solvaset.

Thanks PJ.  No but I recently got Tamiya's new stuff, both of them.  I have yet to try them though.  I presume it's formulated to work with their lousy decals.  I'll look into Solvaset.

LD what I like about Solvaset is that it melts the decal on to the surface and I mean melt it down for good making it look painted. I recently used it on some very old Tamiya decals as an experiment and the next morning I did the tape and scrape test and the decal wold not lift with the tape and scraping it was a task. Sandpaper was next and I had to really work it to get the decal off. I've been using Solvaset since the 70's and swear by it.

Another exceptional build.  You'd sure couldn't tell by the finished product that you had any problems with it.  I really like how your exhaust stain turned out. Thanks again for sharing
