OT: Will the Thunderbirds transition to the YF-22?

Merlin, just imagine the noise as the 6 Harriers takes off..! And the solo's routine would be so much more interesting!

The 2 ship synchronised display in the 80's was excellent, just imagine a 9 ship!

The noise factor was probably the first thing I thought of.
I heard a Harrier pilot once remark that the AV-8 could stay aloft on its own noise alone.
I tend to believe he just might not have been joking!

Anyway, I hope the Blues stick with the Hornet for a long time (looks like they don't have a great deal of choice). It's a beautiful show plane. I'll never forget seeing them in the F-4j Phantom back in the early 70's......Awesome doesn't even begin to describe.

How about the BONE or the B-2 in T-Bird markings. I like that 747 idea too. Only in a perfect world. Not in this one.

C'mon guys there's only one plane that they should transition to, THE P51D MUSTANG !!!!! now THAT would look awesome. Greg

BTW the REDS would still look good even if they were flying tiger moths

There's an aviation artist (don't know who it was offhand) who thought the same thing and put your fantasy to canvas. Looked great. Did you ever see it?

I really dont think that it would be feasible to transition to the F-22 being that it would cost wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much to do. I really think the F-16 is a great show performer anyways.
