Fantastic chukw,

I've been following this eagerly, you have lots of very useful tips and techniques scattered throughout the build and I hope this gets pinned somewhere as well. Maybe it would be useful to have the entire build available as a PDF file?

Note: After much badgering from our peanut gallery, chukw did begin copyrighting his build posts!

YAY! (something is in the offing!)

Same here: I'm waiting for the final installment, admittedly with mixed feelings because I sure did enjoy following this build! I'm sorry it's almost over, but at the same time, we'll all have a gem of a model to admire. One of these days, I'll have to spend a few hours just going through the whole shebang, start to finish, just like I did one day while recovering from my operation a few months back.

My response to chukw's hint: Maybe I'll have to learn to cook sauerbraten!Chef [C=:-)]Smile [:)]

Chukie!!

Lookin good, mate.  Always a pleasure to see another installment of Lil' Chuk and his Giant Penny.

The Helldiver looks pretty good, too.

Is is a bit precipitous to ask what's next on the workbench?  Can't  wait to find out.....but mate, you DO realise that you've built a rod for your own back....the next build has to be just as spectacular as Lil' Chuk and his Helldiver....LOL....you did it to yourself, you know......heh heh heh.

As they say in the classics, my friend, "Nil bastardum carborundum"....

Cheers, Brother!

Cheers, LeeTree

Thanks do much guys- and happy new year to one and all!   First off, I'd like to thank Smeagol for compiling the post in one thread- that must have taken forever.   You're A-Number 1, my friend!  I have gotten some work done- the bird is almost fully cooked at last.   However, I've had to put business before pleasure once again- I was given a special assignment at work that simply has to done by January 5th.  If it weren't really important to out company and just downright fun I'd be whining about- but I'm not.  My wife has been amazingly supportive at having to give me up for what should be ten days off, but that's just the wonderful woman she is.  That dear little model airplane of mine sits waiting for me to finish my storyboards before I can give it the attention it really deserves.  It's become amazingly fragile, what with all the little hatches and tidbits in place- I have to hold it very carefully!  I've even collected all the leftover parts and paperwork in anticpation of it being done.  A little paint, the antenna wire- and it's done.   Thanks for you support- and patience!

As for that next project, well- you'll never make me talk, Herr Schickelgruber!  Tongue [:P]

Well- I done did it!  The Helldiver is complete- she's sitting on the bench in a quite glow.  I'd like to thanks you all for the support and encouragement received oover the last 15 months or so- it's been much appreciated.  I've gone from typing captions, which is laborious and dull for me- scribbling away right on the pictures and adding my little homunculi to entertain and amuse.   Over 500 pics and who know how many posts later- I've finished me a model!   But you're not logged in to hear me yammer- on to the pics!

Chuk, quite frankly you are not a modeler.....you are an artist in the purist sense!  I bow to you oh jedi master of styrene!  Your tutorial over the time I have watched it has given me tips and pointers I think will make me a better modeler.  For that I thank you.

I can't wait to see what new project you will have up your sleeve!

Yea... I dont think ill be the only one that hunts you down if you dont submit this entire thing to FSM.  You can use that bit I did for you for christmas so you dont have to wade for posts (I did that just for this, This needs to be published man)

Absolutely amazing Chuk.  I came upon this thread somewhere in the middle and have enjoyed watching the project progress, not to mention the development of the characters.  Thank you for educating and entertaining us.  Now.... put that beauty in a case and keep it safe and clean!

Beautifully executed Chuk!  I agree, a most entertaining and thought provoking read.  I have adopted many of the techniques you have presented, and I thank you for helping me become a better modeler.

I take my biretta off to you oh Obi Wan! I have been truly inspired from watching you work. It makes me want to go that much farther on my projects. It's time to start my triplane and see what happens. Are you doing the Toryu next?

Keep up the good work and keep inspiring the rest of us!

OK, Chuck, get the manuscript off to FSM, it will be one of the best articles ever.  They'll serialize it and run it over several months (or years!).  Great model!!
