I saw it when it was posted.   To be honest, I don't like that Tiger tank.. Nothing personal, but I've always been a realism fan, and having the famous tigertank on those tiny tracks and having it so slim didn't make me happy...  But it's sure waaaaaayyyyy better than ANYTHING else (exept a real tiger) Big Smile [:D]   May I ask what the tiger body is built of? Smile [:)]

And I start my build for this as soon as Tamiya release their new 1/48 Opel Blitz.. Maybe I do the entire thing and buy two Opels and one Kubel... but we'll see Cool [8D]

Nope, not a one! Big Smile [:D]

It's quite interesting the way they built it. I started a thread in Armor about it with some pictures. Firefox won't let me cut and paste, so just go to Armor and search for "S.P.R. Tiger, inside and out."

Sign me up!

A friend of mine just commissioned me to build the "Tiger" from Saving Private Ryan (the one that has it's track blown off with the 'sticky bomb').

I'll be mashing Tamiyas T-34/85 and Tiger I, along with photoetch (first time on this scale), and a LOT of scratch building.

My buddy actually OWNS this tank, so I have been in it, on it, and all over it.

well, change that yellow text and I think we have a nice badge :)

And I think I've decided what I'm gonna do. The scene from Kelly's Heroes where they ambush that carconvoy just after they've got trough the minefield :)

I don't have the talent to make a badge that's much more than what I've shown.. Someone else, jump on it and show us something.

I'd like to use one of these designs as a basis for the badge... I made one, not very well, though... I'm not good enough at Photoshop yet to stack objects, so someone help me out... Use one of these, and show me what ya got..

I like the last one best, as far as shape and artwork.. But don't let that stop you..

I see no one has yet suggested the classic street scene -- Kelly, Big Joe and Oddball doing the gunfighter walk toward the Tiger outside the bank, from the end of Kelly's Heroes. I've been nursing the dream to build that one for years now. I'm tempted but I don't think I'm suicidal enough to take on a diorama, especially as to do the material justice it would need to be at least 12" x 24" and there's absolutely no place to store/display a project that large at present... But dang! I'm tempted all the same...

Thunderbolt, I measured out a piece for ya and got it to a pretty managable 18 X 6 & 1/2 inches...  Unless you plan on modeling the square and some of the buildings, it'd work pretty good, IMHO...  There's still enough space between the Tiger's gun and our heroes... Especially if you model it during the part where they've walked up and are watching the German Sergeant dismount...

Ok, that's a good one, Huxy... I'm trying one incorporating the "Hollywood" sign, myself...

Hi all,

I've been reading through the posts and this is a really interesting topic.

Or Tamiya's PBR with a modified crew in a scene from Apocalypse Now, a waterline diorama with foliage and sampans...

Or the collapsing bridge from Force 10 From Navarone, maybe a tank toppling from an up-ending slab of road...

Or General Patton directing traffic at a muddy crossroads, from Patton...

No, I'm insane! Dead [xx(]

I haven't found a pic of the aircraft yet, but if you watch the movie (and its a good one), you'll see it.

Hans, you never got back to me about my proposed build, and I'm not on the roster.  Am I go?

I've decided I'm building the opening sene from Battle Of The Bulge where the plane is chasing the Klubwagen (?). I think Bronco makes that plane or something realy close in 1/35 that could be modified.

IMDB... "Hollywood" is just an Americanism for the movie business.  As long as the war movie is listed there, it's a GO...

And does it have to be a diorama?

Yes... It's pretty hard to recreate a scene from a war movie  without scenery, sets, props,  and "actors", wouldn't ya say?Wink [;)]

Still in?

You got a year men, but it's time to start this production...

Anyone else that is interested but hasn't signed on, feel free to do so...  I'll keep letting folks sign up until we're 60 days out from the finish date... After that, no new acts...

Fire up them VCRs and DVDs, folks...
