Wisconsin gets a ton of snow doesn't it. I just recently moved from Pennsylvania to NC and people think I am crazy when I tell them we went to school after it snowed two feet. If there is even a threat of snow, everything shuts down here. I thought they were just blowing smoke until the first time there was a threat of snow and schools were calling saying no school and nobody drives and only some go to work. Different views on snow I guess but they have no stockpiles of salt or snowplows down here as compared to up north.

We sure do!  Just over 100 inches last winter, really gave the snowblower a workout!

Over here if he have more than about 3mms of snow the entire country goes into panic mode. Panic buying and everything.

Now that my little ploy of bringing up snow sidetrack everyone.  Laugh [(-D].  It gave jwb a reprieve, but now back to business.

jwb - only 4 days left - not that we are counting.  Hope you are having fun with the participant lists.  We relax - joke - and you work.  Boy isn't this fun.

The storm hasn't arrived yet but it is on the way.  They are now predicting anywhere from 15-20 cms. for snow (6 to 8 inches).  The clouds look mean again today.  Oh well can't do anything about it.  Keeping my fingers crossed and also toes that it will miss us or we will just get a corner of the storm as it slides in.

Believe me friend, I truly count this as a blessing every year. Sure it takes some work- but it's worth it. You guys make it all worthwhile!

Ugh,

Nevermind on the MMSI Show vendor haul. There were very few vendor tables and everyone was essentially charging the same as one would pay at an LHS or online.

Having said that, the displays were simply AMAZING!! I have never seen so many absolutley stunning works of art. I was literally taken aback by much of what I saw. I wish I would have brought a camera. FSM was there so I am sure there will be photos available. There was one dio called "Celler Dwellers" that kept me just staring at it for what seemed like forever.

I had to drop the wife and kids off at the mall so I was on a time restraint and I missed Shep Paines book signingSigh [sigh].

Anyway, Tick Tock, Tick Tock. I am sooooo darned excited...

Am I the only one more excited at giving more than the recieving?

Regards,

Jeff, glad to hear you enjoyed the show.  Too bad about the Sep Payne signing.  I'm sure you won't get that chance very often.

I too just went to a show yesterday in Vancouver.  It's the first time I've ever been able to attend such a show and I had a blast.  I cleaned up at the Vendor tables, got some beautiful Tamiya, Hasegawa and Academy kits for like a third of their retail cost.  I got seven kits (1/72) for $80 plus some decals and details.  The displays were simply amazing and two of the three builds I entered took first in their category (though there were only two entries in one of them Blush [:I]).  Anyway, I'll post pics and full details in the General discussion thread when I get home tomorrow.

Jon, is it time yet?  Is it?  Snow storm has arrived here.  Been snowing for a couple of hours now.  Spoiled the day somewhat, as my oldest daughter and grandchildren cancelled coming over for Thanksgiving Dinner because of the storm.  Rather have them safe that driving in this condiction.  Son in-law is in BC hunting elk.

Oh the aroma of turkey, ham, cabbage roll and pumpkin pie.......Dinner [dinner].  I'll be sure to eat a big piece of pie for you guys.

Anyone else in the shopping mood, if so lets hear a big hearty heck......Yeah!! [yeah].  A jwb motivator.

I was in the shopping mood yesterday at the Vancouver show. But no one had anything I was wanting. Sigh [sigh] I cleaned out the hobby shops over the last few years so there's nothing there either.

Razordws - Great meeting you and glad you made out with some hardware Thumbs Up [tup] Your builds are fantastic! You deserved every ribbon.

Well fellow participants, I have to break the bad news to all of you.............Are you stitting down...........Really, sitting down this isn't going to be pretty..........

I know it's the Christmas Season.  My wife and her sister are here making their world famous Christmas Cake.  They won't let me have any of the rumBoohoo [BH], they say they only have enough for the cake.  Boy, that sure is a big rum bottle.  Oh, well they informed me that they will be needing more to soak the cakes and they will save me a glass or two.

Get ready all you plasticholics to become shopaholics, the time is getting close for Jon to make good on his promise.

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!.  Isn't this exciting.  Won't belong and Jon will let us know who our intended victim Oops [oops], I mean recipient is.  I've got my feet in the starting blocks for a mad dash to the LHS to ransack and pillage the plastic pile in search of the one an only suitable hunk of plastic that will be molded and babied into a masterpiece by nimble fingers.Whistling [:-^]Propeller [8-]

whats with all the October B-days? Mine is tomorrow, 16th LOL

So...we DO have a final ruling that it is perfectly, rivet-counting legally permitted to participate in the 3rd SSGB without actually building the one we got last year? :)

I got an awesome kit last year from Freddie, Eduard's IL-2. I did not have the time to build it this year, and honestly, need to build couple more Tamiya's and such before I tackle this one, such a nice kit, want to make it justice.

cheers all
