In My Stash GB : Threepeat
Posted by kenny_conklin on Sunday, November 9, 2008 7:27 AM

HI and welcome to IMS3 . This is our third year running on this GB . It is fun and alot of great people have joined and produced many a great model . If you are new tothis build the concept is your post your top 15 kits you have at home and the rest of us get to vote on what you build. If you want to check out our past builds go to these links.

In My Stash GB '07 - /forums/1/701837/ShowPost.aspx#701837

In My Stash GB '08 - /forums/1/855779/ShowPost.aspx#855779

the rules are as follows :

1. Any scale

2. Any Genre

3. Must be from what you have at home and not previously started

4. Diorama or Stand alone project

5. Any extras you want to put into your build

6. Pick your top 15 kits and list them on your post (post a pic also if you can )

7. Join Dates November 9, 2008 til December 26, 2008 (all lists must be in by this date)

8. Voting is from December 28, 2008 til December 30, 2008 then the polls will be closed.

9. Build runs from January 1, 2009 til December 31, 2009

10. GB badge to be claimed once you have completed your build

11. pm IL2windhawk here at FSM with your email address so he can add you into the voting table.

12. please when you post your list add the scale of each model or group them by scale

I have changed this GB back to a whole year format . Because many people do run into everyday problems of work family issues and sometimes general frustration with the kit and need to put it down for awhile. if you are a fast builder and want to move onto your next highest voted on kit that is great ! it has been done in the past and works very well.

We need a new GB badge for this build so the more ideas the better just  post them on the board and we will pick the one the whole group likes best .

I will be joining the group but not sure of when i will get to it . As many of you know i have not finished last years build for personal reasons. But on that fron things are looking better and i will have two builds to complete for this go around.

I hope to see alot of old faces and alot of new ones for this build.

And remember it is all abou having fun !

Wow i cant believe it has been 2 years! I doubt anyone will remember but I actually joined the the first IMS GB and unfortunately had some living situations come up and all my stuff has sat in storage for 2 years!

I got rid of a lot of kits and some are still in storage but I have about 8 at the hosue now, as well as all my tools/supplies so I would love to join!

Here is what I have to build:

VOTE SYSTEM REGISTRATION
Everyone that has signed up for this GB: your first order of business is to send me a PM with your email address so that I can register you for IMS3 voting.

(1) PRIVACY
Your email address will be kept safe and secure by me alone.  I wish that I did not require it, but the voting system will not allow me register users without it.  All information is stored on my server, and is promptly deleted after voting is completed.

(2) About the IMS3 VOTING SYSTEM
The "voting system" is simply a web forum (like FSM) in which "poll-threads" will be created for each IMS3 member.  You will need to log-in to cast votes.  Your username and password will be provided via PM after you send your email address and you account is activated.

(3) IMS3 VOTE SYSTEM LINK
The IMS3 voting system is online and is currently accepting test-votes.  The web address will be made available via PM after your account has been created.

(4) TEST VOTING
It is a requirement for every IMS3 participant to test-vote at least once so that hidden problems with the vote system or your account can be corrected before the official vote.  Attempts to fix accounts during the short election period would be a hassle for me, and furthermore they could jeopardize the entire vote (via loss of data, etc.)
Please test-vote at the "TESTGROUND".  Thanks in advance.

(5) YOUR STASH LIST
Please post all pertinent information about your stash list in the IMS3 Group Build Thread at the FineScale forums.  Shortly thereafter I will create your personal poll-thread at the Vote System and I will enter your kit information for you.  You will be able to post pictures / comments in your thread if you wish (see TEST-VOTE 1 for details).
NOTE PLEASE be very sure of your stash list when you post it at FSM.  Any subsequent changes that you make to your list will require added effort by me to make your changes at the vote system.  Thank you for understanding.

Add me to this one, and here are the list of my stash kits that are collecting WAY too much dust (in no particular order):

1. AMT/Ertl 1/48 ES-3A Shadow with Eduard ES-3A P/E and Twobobs "Santa Cruise" Nose Art (would involve backdating exterior to S-3B)

2. Tamiya 1/35 Quad Gun Tractor w/ 25pdr Field Gun with Eduard P/E kits for both (more dust than a mummy's farts)

3. Minicraft 1/48 MH-60K

4. Tamiya 1/48 FW190A6 (lots of PE and aftermarket stuff that scares me)

5. Tamiya 1/35 PBR 31 Mk II "Pibber"

6. Tamiya 1/24 Xanavi Nismo GT-R (R34)

7. Italeri 1/35 M109A6 Paladin SPG

8. Tamiya 1/35 SAS Land Rover (Pink Panther)

9. Tamiya 1/35 Hummer with M242 Bushmaster

10. AMT/Ertl 1/48 A-10 Thunderbolt Action Scene (includes tarmac and ground personnel)

11. Minicraft 1/72 PB4Y-1 "Easy Maid"

12. Revell 1/25 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. 2002 Season Budwieser Chevy Monte Carlo

13.  Monogram 1/48 F-15C Eagle

14.  Academy 1/48 F-16C Fighting Falcon with "Eat My Shorts Hussein" Desert Storm Nose Art

15.  Italeri 1/48 C-130J Hercules II (yes, the one with the 3' wingspan, 1997 release, not the new rebox)

There's my list.

Here's some "group" photos, didn't want to suck up 15 photos worth of bandwidth, but the gang is all there.

Count Me In!!

Last year I had a relatively small kit, He162, and it the build was pretty straight forward and over reasonably quickly.  This time I am going in the opposite direction. Everything in the list has some PE to add, either as part of the kit or something I have bought - there's even a couple of things with some extra resin as well. Knowing you lot you will go for the biggest/most PE. If you can figure out which one it is then go for itCool [8D]

Here goes...

Hasegawa    48    A6M2b
Tamiya    48    A6M5c
Hasegawa    48    B5N2 Model 3
Tamiya    48    Ki84-1a Frank

Threepeat me Kenny,  Threepeet me. I am so in for this years. I have been quietly waiting for the post for this years edition. I have the list made but I am thinking I will go over the stash one more time tomorrrow. Its hard to pick 15 when I have 200 to choose from.

Once again I want to thank IL2 for all the work he puts into the voting system. Last year it was terriffic and a lot of fun to work with.

I have updated my post in the middle of page 1 with general information about the voting process.  It's the same process as last year.

For everyone that has already sent their email addresses, you can ignore my post on page 1.  Check your PM for the same instructions + more.

It's good to see so many of the IMS1 and IMS2 crew returning!  And it's always great to see new faces joining our ranks.  Kenny - you sure had a great idea two years ago.  I forsee a long tradition of IMS builds in the future.

Those of you who have already posted your stash lists, please take one last look at them and make sure that's what you want.  I will start inputing data into the vote system over the next few days.
