Talking of Slackers, here i am. I think i may be getting the better of the Man flu. Apparantly according to SWMBO'ed i mustnt Chug Cough Mixture? 2 teaspoons every 4 hrs? Im 6".2 and 15 stone, if i want 1/2 pint of the stuff then i will, damnitt, so what that my left eye wont open and im drooling. Im feeling better!!!

Drivell over.

Aaron, ive seen the pics (Puters almost there) You are now the official 109 Guru. Im going to badger YOU now for all things 109 related. She looks super. The extra detailing you put in really makes the difference. Top marks and a million Ninja points. I also stand corrected on the Cowl badge. I bow to your superior knowledge.  Bow [bow]

Steve, I love it. Now that is a paint scheme you just dont see very often and youve nailed it. The way you got a monochromatic scheme to have depth is fantastic. Another million Ninja points your way.

Thanks Karl!  That was more for practice. I am going to try my hand at one of the Hasegawa kits soon. I got exactly what I wanted out of it which was knowledge from all you masters....

Guy ( My superior knowledge?) That must be some cough syrup! What exactly do they put in the tea over there?  Oh yeah ask Tempest Johnny about my wife and mail carriers! Dead [xx(]

So I am calling #1 done. That is when you guys answer a quick question for me. How do I string the antena wire when the canopy is posed open. I was stumped by the conundrum today and figured better the advise of the GB. This is my R/M 1/48 G-10. Very basic kit and an easy trouble free build. I jazzed it up with instrument decals and Eduard belts. I drilled the intakes on the cowl and added wire for brake lines. Other than that its OOB. Used the kit decals for III/JG1 and used MM enamels and pastel wash and weathering.

Thanks for looking guys and as usuall any comments and critique is always welcome. Stay tuned for #2 and #3 as they are close behind.

She's a honey, Steve -- I love this kind of build, doing a technically excellent job which brings an older or simpler kit up to speed. Were the panel lines recessed, or did you scribe any of them???

Cheer,

Mike/TB379

PS: I just talked to my LHS and it'll be at least a month before they restock with Model Master -- GRRR, it seems like I'll never get my hands on RLM 75 and 76! I can't do much till I do, as I need to paint inside the air scoops of the K-4 before I can build up the wing detailing...

Thanks TB and HK. I do enjoy taking an old kit and try to make it look up to modern standards. Nice thing about this kit was the panell lines and I only had to scribe a few of them. I also scribed the spine panels and that was a pain doing it on a joint line. Messed up a bit here and there but they will do.

Here is an update on the other two. Glosscoated and panels washed. Have to do a bit more tonight. I got the yellow nose painted today.

Thanks for looking

Steve you are making some nice progress there. They all look great. I managed to attach the tall wooden tail option to my G-14 tonight. I am going to let it dry good before blending it in. For some reason they made the cut line in the middle if a panel instead of on the panel line so it all has to be sanded smooth. After that it looks pretty good. Checked the wing to fuselage fit and it looks like minimal gaps. Easily handled with some streched sprue pressed into the gap to close it up. Hope to make some ral progress this week as nothing much got done last week.

Steve- That model is breathtaking!  Love the finish, top notch work. Approve [^]  I updated page one for you!  The other two are coming along quite nicely as well.  You're gonna be the first to finish three here, and I'm still working on my cockpit! Shock [:O]

SC- No worries, you'll probably still finish ahead of me.  Mine was giving me fits, but I think I have it down now.  Learned a VERY valuable lesson on the Hasegawa 1/32 '109- glue the fuselage pieces together BEFORE doing anything else! Disapprove [V]

Guy- Sorry the man flu is kicking your Censored [censored] and your 'puter is giving you fits.  Mine was almost dead too.  I just got my new one today, and man is it fast!  Still learning the intricacies of Mozilla Firefox and Windows Vista.  Lots of cool new gadgets, but it also means more time away from the 109. Disapprove [V]  Hope you get yourself and your boat anchor computer sorted out soon! Big Smile [:D]

John-

It seems OK to me so far, but then I have only been using it for about 8 hours. Wink [;)]  From what I have heard and seen so far, I think it really is a good thing.  Glad to hear that people like it! Thumbs Up [tup]

I go out to sea for a few days and you guys are hard at it!

Aaron- Great work on Ludwig "Zirkus" Franzisket's G-6.  To the best of my knowledge I./JG 27 was operating out of Fals-am-Wagram, Austria when that photo was taken.  Franzisket had been recently appointed Gruppenkommandeur.

Steve- Great work on "White 9", the other two look to be winners as well!

Guy- Damn it man, you can't let some puny little virus slow you down, back to the bench!!! Big Smile [:D]

Hi all, i think im beating this flu thing finally. Just the way as i have work today at 15.10pm Booo.

Steve the aerial on that gem would go to a hole just behind the canopy. In a straight line through the round one. Like on mine.

Ludwig Franzisket? I built an aircraft flown by someone named Ludwig?  Cue the Beetovin! DUN DUN DUN DUN! Thanks for the info Mike! Thanks for all the compliments as well. I am going to try to take what I have learned and apply it to a Hasegawa kit now.

Steve those 109 paint jobs! Just incredible!  They look as good as any more expensive kit. You are talented!

I got another 109 in the mail just today! Has spagetti sauce on it though. Thumbs Up [tup]

Steve, that build really stands out and is really beautiful.  Very niceley done.

Asa far asthe atenna wire is concerning I believe it was connects to the top of the mast that is as the back of the canopy and it just pivoted out with the mast as the canopy opended and the mast laid on its side.  Can anyone confirm or deny??

Steve- Here is where a picture of what you're building  really comes in handy!  The G-10 used both options, mounted on a mast on the aft of the canopy, and the K-4 style where the forward end was routed into the fuselage.  I've seen more pictures with the antenna on a mast but that doesn't mean all that much.

Santa brought me a new compressor for Christmas

With which I was able to actually spray something

Now I can actually spray while my family is sleeping.  It is so quiet.

Hey Temp John! Here's a tip. But an air horn on the vent on your moisture trap and it will once again wake up the family late at night. Oh I live for those moments! Wake up world I am modeling!

Other thing is it is so clean ... I'm jealous! And what is with that cutting mat? Not a spot on it!???? Not very believeable. Needs weathered. The 109 however is looking good!

How is this for a proper cutting mat Aaron?

Steve that's great work of the RM G-10 you've really done a great job there Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup].  Your other two 109s are looking awesome as well, keep the progress updates coming.

Also, you may have mentioned this before but were the landing gear legs colored red to indicate high octane fuel was being used?

Progress on my RM G-10 is going really well as it should for a kit with only 36 parts in it.  Last night I painted the most of the sub-assemblies in the appropriate color and tonight I'll finish that job with the wheel wells and the prop.  My kit is being done strictly to IPMS OOB rules which means no seatbelts, no drilling out gun barrels, no mods of any sort unless you're filling sink holes, so this "should" be a quick build.

Cheers

Darren, you are correct on the landing gear legs being red. It was to indicate 100 octane fuel. Thought it made the scheme pop out a bit too.

Just a quick update on #2 and 3. Both are finished tonight with the exception to the antenna wires. Some things are still drying and I am too tired to set up my photo booth to take pics. I am out of town for a few days so when I get back I will post finished pics. What a teese.

I know I am way late with this, AND you may already know this site, AND it may been discussed here, AND... OK there isn't another AND.  There is however a SO...

SO, here is a link that I been trying to think of for a while and it finally came to me.  Great info.  I especially like the drawings.
