Well the clock is striking midnight as I type and Bill and Aaron are off to some exotic destination with a bottle of their finest and Jeremy is on the hunt for a buxom lady while Guy is teasing me with four engined beasties.  Rithchie, not sure what he is up to but he has not even done his homework.  I'll have to send my wife, the school teacher, after him with the yard stick.

Done!!!  Was a pleasant build, not Tamigawa pleasant but I certainly enjoyed it and I love the lines of this aircraft.  Enjoy.

Good thing I busied up that office because you can see EVERYTHING!!!

Aaron - Welcome back! Your deck looks fantastic! That's really a great technique. I have five 1/700 scale ships that I will build someday and I'll have to remember how you did that long after I've forgotten about it.

Dave - The 311 is looking amazing! I've been having the same problem with the lower windows on the fuselage of the SM79. Four of them have fallen in due to my clumsy handling of the plane. The last one will only fall in when I glue the gondola on and have no more access to the interior.

Here's a gorgeous plane. I need it... in 1/48 of course. Three engines, two tails and one fat belly... mmmm, wish my wife was built like that.

Hopefully I'll get back to work on the SM79 this coming week. Actually looking forward to finishing her.

Neato, Captain! Like the wingtop graphics!

I wrapped up the De havil...er Breda's interior today, she's stocked up and ready to start transporting VIP's like you to Addis Ababa for the weekend. I hear it's nice there this time of year.

Darn student flyers!

Hmmm Guy has smileys!  Shall we call him Guy Smiley! The crack reporter from Sesame Street?

Thanks Bondo! I try. Been working on the superstructers and guns today. Tricky clean up but it is an old $20 special. I sometimes enjoy them far more than the new pricey stuf.

That's a Queen Elizabeth, could be the Barham, which means that could be your plane, Mr. Guy! Very nice. Here's a good one, which is in the Squadron book too, which is a good one:

Aaron, that wood decking looks great.  May have to give that a try on the Snowberry.

Ritchie, I'd love to do it as a R/C but that will have to be another day on another model.

Bill, great tip if I had somewhere to pour in the glue.  The window in question was pretty small and right above another section of glass on the bottom of the fuselage.  I will remember that for next time though.  This time I was able to use some CA glue and attach a piece of sprue to the side of the window and pull it out that way.  I was then able to sand off the backside flange and glued it back in place with white glue. I just have some touch up paint around the windows and then she'll be done.

Guy, great site.  I have always wanted to build one of these.  Special Hobby makes it in 1/72.

Aaron welcome back, and you are a Master! I'd like to try that technique, but my current ship build has steel decks painted dark blue. Oh well, very nice, Sir. Didn't theseships also have some really lurid air recognition graphics too?

Dave if it goes down into the a/c, pour a little white glue in and shake it around till it finds the puddle and stops rattling. Works every time, don't ask how I know...

Those were some cool sub hunters Dave. I am amazed at all the cool paint schemes you can make with those as well and it is big!!!!! Did you finish your bomber yet?

How is The SM 79 coming? Gerald?

Guy you finished the G-55 and then a Kofu and now deep into a Cant 200 limited run kit? Jeeze your an animal!

I painted different shades of deck color to represent planks as I have seen this done to simulate the teak decks on the Bismark models and wanted to give it a go. Kinda like preshading.

Then a thinned dusting of the deck tan color and it blends in to give a wood deck kinda look. Whatcha think?

Takes quite a bit of work but what the heck.  Going to nap and see what tomorrow brings with it.

Guy, that MC.200 is looking good.  I love the Vrooom Vroooom Stage.  The bare metal foil tip was cool too.  Thanks! Thumbs Up [tup]  I'll have to give it a try.

Aaron!!! good to see you man.  Once I get this CA 311 done and finish I'll join you and Sean on that ship build but mine isn't Italian...  Oh wait, topic doesn't matter in this GB cause there are no real rules.  Clown [:o)]

Some of you may know what this Hull is from...

I've removed all the masking from the windows on the CA 311 but I pushed out one of the tiny windows in the back portion of the fuselage so I need to repair it before I can finish it off.  Fortunately it was still hanging on a bit so I have a toothpick glued to it with some white glue and once it's dry I hope to be able to pull it back into place and secure it.  Otherwise I'll have to let it fall in and replace it.  I hate having loose  stuff rattling around inside a model though. Disapprove [V]

Dave the Ca 311 is really looking great. Nice work on the camo and the masking.

Bondo I can't compare the two movies because I have never seen Dr Strangelove but I am somehow getting the feeling that I should because of all of the references to it. I might have to get it. I have the Squadron book on the Sm 79 and it is on of my favorites. I plan on building my Classic Airframes kit just like the one on the cover of the book with the gray nose.

Guy the Macchi is really sarting to come together. That bullet proof canopy looks like a real pain in the butt. I hope my 1/32 Macchi C202 canopy is not like yours! As for the Classic Airframes Cr 32 I can not thin of anyone more deserving of such a cool kit than you.Make a Toast [#toast]

Aaron its good to hear from you buddy. Hope life slows down a bit for you soon and we can have you back here posting with use agian.

As for the doctor visit yesterday I can only say I left disappionted once agian. I get the feeling my doctor is giving up on trying to figure out the underlying cause of my medical problems after I have come out of pocket over $10.000 dollars in the last three years. Then only to be told that they would not help me with the paperwork to collect disability either if my condition get worse. I would have to go somewhere else. They got my money any there done with me I guess. I am going back to my regular doctor as a last hope next week to see if there is anything left he can do. Whish me luck!

Yey, Aarons here. Do you know of all the major events in my life, the one that i remember exactly, where i was and what i was doing at the time was on Sept 11 2001. It has to be the singular most memorable event in history. The world is now a very different place.

Sarge that is one cool camo scheme on the boat. Ive seen some gooduns before to disrupt the viewers eye and yours is perfect and a copy of the original. Nice job. How long will it take to finish. I havent a clue on the timescales of that type of floater.

Ah got yer notes  thanks for the concern. Been working as has been said and my oldest boy returned home to stay for a while to catch up on bills and car repairs.  All that makes for a neglected computer as something had to give and it was unfortunately my hobby time. Had a day off and have been sitting around quietly reflecting on the events of Sept 11, 2001.  Probably the most significant event to ever effect my life. Was chatting with a friend on AOL that morning about the freakish plane crash when the other one struck as I watched on Television.  Then as he was answering he sent a message that simply read. We're hit.  About 5 minutes later I saw where the Pentigon had been struck. To some it is history but to me I have yet to shake those emotions even as time passes. Left a big scar on my innocense and you all know how the Military life was changed from that day forward.

Anyways on a brighter note I did break out the styrene and have been working on a 1/350 Italian Cruiser. Sean (Summit sent it to me and we agreed Sept was a good month to tackle them as he has one as well. ) The Pola I had already done so I chose to turn his gift into the Gorizia which was the only one of her class to survive the British pounding at the battle of Cape Matapan. 3 others were sunk there in a lopsided night battle with British Battleships.

The Gorizia survived only to be sunk in harbor years later by a joint Italian/ British midget sub action during the Italian Civil war which followed the surrender in 1943.

Got the hull cleaned up and all the basic colors painted on it except for the water line black strip. Starting on the decking. Having some fun with it.

Dave the Caproni is looking so cool. I really need one in my stash. As for Aaron, i shot him a PM and he replied nearly straight away. Hes just being overworked. Too many 11 hr days, getting him down. I say you should all PM him and tell him how ace i am.....oh and if hes ok, and that we all miss him LOL. Hes up for the Weekend Madness though. Homework accomplished Mein Feuhrer.

As for my MC.200 ive gotten a bit further on with it. After finishing off the seams, I decided to have a go at the canopy. Ill tell ya's, its the thickest vac formed canopy ive come accross. I reckon they vacformed bullet proof glass for it,

but using my favoured WMD, it was beaten into submission,

Heres a gratuitous shot of the plane mocked up...and yes i was making brumming noises at the time,

I started on the painting of the underside with the usuall black pre-shade and then the grey lightly misted on till the pre-shade was just visible. After thats gone off, i use a coarse towel and rub the finish to get it flat again. After this i set about the centres of the panels with a lighter mix. Youll notice that the grey doesnt extend to the fuselage. This will be green,

Im going with the box art for the camo,

I then attacked the U/C. As per usuall there was a fair bit of flash and seam lines that needed whittling away. Look at the lovely tail fork in resin,

Heres a Lufty tip of the day. Use Bare metal foils Ultra bright chrome for Oleo legs. Works a treat and only takes minutes,

Oh and Soulcrusher (Michael) Is a God in my eyes, Look at the beauty he sent me. I checked the resin goodies and theyre all there and in good shape. Even those pesky thin vanes around the cowl,

What's the connection between "GF1" and "Doctor Strangelove?"

Got the tailfeathers put to rights, also bought Squadron's SM79 in action pulp, prep for the next build which will shrivel yer bollocks. The Rapide donated a landing gear set and we are close to being done, hopefully this weekend.

Good you are in Dave's weekend GB folks.
