Out of curiosity I got out the calipers tonight and checked the fins. The kit fins are a consistant .007. It looks thinner than the .005 sheet that I have but I guess not. I'll be able to use the sheet after all.

I DO hope your still talking about the BV!!! You damn Puyverts...and how the hell did you know that ive named it my precious. That bloody Wingus and Dingus.

As for thin styrene sheet, i have some in an assortment pack and thats litterally as thin as paper. That should be ideal. Ill post some if your desperate.

You can get brass Shim stock from a machine shop that is thin as paper. Or better yet go to your discount auto parts store and by a cheap set of feeler gauges. Thin enough metal you can cut with scissors .

Steve, I think I could do something with it but at a great risk of ruining the whole thing. I've fired off an email to CA to see if I can get a replacement. Those fins are thin. My thinnest sheet is .005 and those fins are thinner than that.

Clear acetate?

Can you get brass sheet thin enough?

I agree that Bondo's idea is a good one.Thumbs Up [tup]  This is one of those times where that dreaded  flash would come in handy.

Good idea, bondo. I think I have a piece of that somewhere in the bottom of the spares box. I'll find it and check it out. If nothing else I've got three sets of QB resin gunsites I can steal a piece or two out of.

I though about pulling my Cr 32 out of the stash for this build but I went for the Re 2000 because it was a much simpler build. I looks like a beautifull kit and the detail on the resin nose is fabulious. It will definetly take some patience and skill to pull this one of though. Thats why when I am done with my Fokker I am going to build the Ro 37 instead. Still alot of work but the wing consrtuction look a little easier.

Thanks for the support, guy. I'll give it a go but I won't like it. Once I get past the resin nose things will hopefully go well.

Hey Shooter, it seems like youve made an appearance just at the right time. I hope the Bondomeister has put you straight as to the homework. It was far more devious than its latest version.

All it is a quick video (Hosted the same way as pictures) just letting the rest of us see who else is messing about on this GB. Kinda cool i thought, lol.

Bummer about the CR though, i really fancied doing one of those, mainly because of that lovely resin nose. Probably a job for some thin strip styrene and loads of patience. I hope the struts work out better than those on my thing.

Sure you need to.

It goes like this and the best thing is to start at the ending.

http://s153.photobucket.com/albums/s212/Luftwoller/Odds%20and%20sods/

That's our fearless Leader Guy (Generale) responding to a very well set up prank by our sfcmac (Tenente Collonelle) and aided and abbetted by Summit, Daywalker, razordws (it may be his fault) and Bondo ( all Tenentes) plus Soul Crusher and Sidure (Avieros) and others. In retribution, because being Italian is all about Vendettas, we will all be required to be posting viddies of ourselves on Sunday, 3/1/09.

It's all on our around page 7, but being Italians, thats an expanding list!

I busted out the Cr.32 so I could get it started and found that the resin nose is damaged. Bummer.

I've email CA to see if I can get a new one. Meanwhile I'll get started on the rest of the kit. I must say this is a very nice looking kit. It should be a very neat little plane when done.

Now what's this I hear about homework?

You would probally love the old Revell 1/32 Beaufighter Aaron. I have one in the stash. Raised panel lines are ok but there is nothing in the cockpit but two seats and a instrument panel.  You basiclly would have to scratch build the whole interior. Sounds like fun right?

Sean, your welcome.  If the wife asks why you bought it you know who to blame it on don't you! Wink [;)]

Aaron, I don't think it's been released on this side of the pond yet.  Doesn't show up in any searches but Hannant's had it!  Currently showing as sold out. Sad [:(]
