I would recommend the Tamiya kit.  It comes in both the E-3 and E-4/7 version, but they are the same kit with different markings.  To be honest, that kit is my all-time favorite model kit to build bar none.  If you could find out any info about the unit he was from, I would be happy to help you with the markings that would be close to his.

Guy , Frank - I need to build a 109 E for my neighbor. His Father was shot down over the English Channel (year unknown to me) and would like the model to place next to the last picture taken of his Father. What 1/48 kit would you reccomend and markings that dont belong to an "Ace" ?

He said his last memory of his was  Father tossing that dagger and sticking it in the door of the kitchen making his Mom really mad !

Guy, I ouldn't even dream of trying to run around a pitch in my condition.   Getting back on that Mtn. bike this spring is going to kill me after this past winter's hibernation!

Whens valentines day, I must get a card. Im glad you liked the Teddy napkin. Its actually kitchen roll. I use tonnes of the stuff. As for the smoke ring camo, I use any spare space with the leftovers in the AB to practise.

As for the football. Im loving it. I was fit as a butchers dog when i was a sprog but let it all go when i found alcohol and girls. Coming back to running around as a YOUNG 39 yr old, is killing me!! LOL As for winning, who cares. If im still standing at the end im chuffed (Chuffed is a good thing btw)

 I haven't seen one of those in years Sean. The C-rats went away in 1984 along with those 4 packs of Cigarettes that came with the meal.  LOL  I bet your son would think they were cool! Does't take too long for the novelty to wear off. LOL O boy you made me laugh!

Hey do you have any "John Wayne's" stashed or left over from your soldier days ? Or had C-rats been phased out before you went in ?  My son has never had the privlage of seeing or using one. I cant find any here at my place.

Guy you are rolling like a greased watermelen in the swimming pool again!   The 205 on the cute teddy napkins with smoke ring camo is cool indeed and the Cant (recall it's name) seaplane doo hicky looks like one of your cool winner projects as well!

 Playing soccer again? this has become a regular thing!  Does the Missus cheer from the sidelines or massage the acking old bones when you return ( victorious)  I notice you never say you if you win and I am not all that sure that Foos-ball at the local pub counts as athetic activity.

Eh? Where di that come from LOL. I just have the MC. 200 and a Hurricane I built a while ago.

I know what you mean though about the striped 506b. It does look cool, but its an awfully big plane for me to do a NMF on. I did a bit of research on mine and apparantly it is a 506S and not a 'B'. The 'S' designation was for rescue planes.

Well it looks like its just me posting today. Where are you all. If you think a different time zone is a good excuse, your mistaken Mr's.

Anyhoos, ive been a painting today. I started on the lower surfaces, misting it on so as not to effect my pre-shade. I was quite happy with the result,

I needed a little more depth to the grey so i lightened the mix in the cup and sprayed the centres of the panels. The key is to not lighten it too much,

The pics dont really do it too much justice but it looks pretty good so far. A couple of hours later, i masked the thing up and squirted the top coat. Misting it on the same way as the bottom.

Ill lighten the panels again after ive had a cuppa.

I agree, I like it in the all green thoug to be honest. But im sure the splotcho look will be a lot more appealing. Bin playing football again this morning and my legs and feet are aching something rotton LOL. No taking the P155 you mugs.

Ive double ordered my CANT 506B so i may have to build 2 of them LOL. The scheme ive settled on is the Medical scheme, with the Red crosses and the german crosses. Should be quite interesting try to get some variation to the plain white finish top and bottom. To get us in the mood, heres a few pcs of said beastie,

 Very Clean looking Sean!  That is the type that had the twin tail version and another that had the conventional looking tail as well.  From what I read it made no diff in the performance though.  Just manufacturing mumble jumble.

 I can'rt wait to see it get that complex look to it from your planned paint job! I am betting it will look like a completely different model!

We need some excitement!  When is SC going to do that  What was it? RO-39?

Not much to show, I got wheels in the gear. The L/G looks to be way fragile so I went ahead and mounted the plane on its supplied stand.

I feel a spotted fever coming on

Dave, you are most definately the AB master . I intend to spray the smoke rings on my veltro, on second thoughts, thats your homework LOL, my smoke rings. I dont think ive got enough of the Mike grants left . Post a link to your Ju52. I love em. I built the Revell 1/48 and that was huge. It was also a stunning kit as well without any probs or hitches anywhere. Even the corrugations looked great.

Sean, thanks!  No putty, all freehand.  I've used putty before and it has it's uses but believe me it would have taken far longer to place all the putty for this scheme than it would be worth.  I used silly putty once for a similar scheme and by the time I finished placing all the blobs the ones that I had laid down first had started to settle out and were starting to merge together. 

Dave - Wow that is fabulous Did you use a putty to make the masking for the spots (blue tac or what ever the heck that stuff I keep hearing about)

Thanks for comments on the Junkers -  I really like the kit even though it has thrown me a few challenges after praising it  

Dave- OMG!!!  Once again, you show the rest of us how an AB job should look.  I am seriously in awe of your AB prowess.
