Well SC !  It was just odd that Guy Pm'ed me this ulitmate wish list yesterday and it matched what had just arrived at my door! It was like he was here!

In some kind of karma moment though I am being punished for teasing him.  I was trying to reorganize one of my stash closets to accept the new recruits and I bumped the old Jap WWII rifles I had hanging for show off the wall. They landed squarely like a hammer on the CLOG! Shock [:O]Dead [xx(] Then if that was not bad enough in my panic to catch them I tripped over the trash on the floor and my 240 pound butt fell on top of the whole scene. You can tell bu the pic the box is flat!

I had removed all the bubble wrap already and the big parts are soaking in the dish pan so the small detailed buggers took the brunt of it! Censored [censored] I don't even want to look at it I am going to go take a break. OOO bad choice of words. Boohoo [BH]

Nice progress pics Frank but you lose one Ninja point for no spinner pics. Sorry Guy made me say that.

Aaron looks like you had one heck of a night. Dinner a huge model shipment and a surprise visit from Guy! Unfortunatly it appears as if you have incured his wrath though. In 1/144 scale too ouch! I am waiting for mine.

Guy thats the way to keep MacNeal in line. Sorry to hear the wormhole trip was a bust. At least you were not arrested for indecent exposure on you way back home. Glad to see you back at the bench.

Hey Ho! there yourself! Guy! Fantastic work!  Like the spinner painted look. SC and Frank has a discussion on it over at the 109 GB. From the really close up pics of the actual aircraft spinners some look really sloppy. No clean edge precision like we strive for. Actually painting it on I think makes it all the more real but looks like it still takes those mad elf skills. Bow [bow]

 Door bell rings......

Dee is screaming mail persons running!  Swat team called. Yep someone sent me a model!  From the Royal Post!  Man that was very kind of you. Thanks!

Been working on the BV the kit doesn't look bad but clean up is a bear. Wiped it down with Simply Green hardly dented the mold release agents. Got a dishpan out and am soaking it maybe that will help.

Hey ho, ive done a bit today...Bit being the operative word LOL. All day off and ive done nothing really part from the prop and got the wings on. Geez i shoulda had the thing painted and on it wheels by now.

Anyhoo, I had a bit of an idea while struggling with the spinner spiral. I messed it up for the umpteenth time, so i decided to spray it on. Heres how i did it. It may be of interest to some of you, maybe not.

1st. Spray the spinner mat black (Or the colour of the finished spiral)

2nd. Using the thinnest tape you can lay your hands on, or cut a really thin strip from tamiya tape or similar, tape the line of the spiral around the spinner, starting at the bottom.

3rd. Space another piece the rightish distance aprart to the top again. If you use really thin tape it doesnt wrinkle to bad and conforms to the spinner shape.

4th. Fill in any gaps between the 2 strips with another piece, then spray the lot the spinners colour, in this case white,

5th. Peel off the tape and admire your handywork.

From now on ill never struggle with a spinner decal again.

Noooooooooo,,  After coming back from America with Nada, through the wormhole, and Naked. My coordinates were screwed and i ended up in the centre of Bournemouth Naked!!!! Oh what fun getting home.

I pm'ed the Sarg last night and mentioned my Pie in the sky wish list, Burger me if he hasnt now got all 3 of them. I HATE YOU MACNEAL. Im sending Wingus and Dingus over with the whips. Not the taffy ones, the real deal this time. WIthout the flowery bows on the end. For your homework, i demand you whittle a 1/144 of that Do 24 in full detail inc cockpits and separate engines, and send it to everyone on this GB. Step to it Soldier. Dont think i didnt see what you posted that Halftrack picture on. I have eyes everywhere.

Dave, sorry about your back, that was me lifting it up the bed to check for BV's and DO's under it.

Frank, Knowing your skill and speed youll have thatthing painted by tonight. Im looking forward to seeing an Italian 109.

Bondo, or should i say El Bondo, cos thats as far as my Italian goes. Great idea about the rankings. What Italian for Great big Scooby doo painting Palloka (Whats a palooka, heard it on CSI...The crap one with the guy with the sunglasses and the snappy (NOT) one liners and Ginger hair).

Steve, stop drooling, youll only encourage him.

I feel i need to build something today as i have the day off and SWMBO'ed is back at work. Might even manage to get the wings on, WOO HOO. Get whittleing El Macneal, im watching you.

Ah had to come by so I could pick a kid up from work Frank. Them young uns can really cramp the love life but they will be in school tomorrow! Whistling [:-^]Mischief [:-,]

Bondo I love them culture wars! That cowboy looks like a candidate for a clog pilot!  Would have been nice to go to Italy again like you but at least the Sunderland came packed with Italian newspapers! Front page stories on American events? GO figure? I'd be more worried about what was happening in Rome.

SC! Believe it or not my credit cards are all paid off. Except for gas and tonights dinner. Banks were closed. I save up a little just to treat myself out of my Army retirement. If nothing else comes up I am as bad as a women in a make-up store! Frank is supposed to be stopping me. He was out buying models though and slipped up. Thats my thing  Fellows I know blow more money than that on a night at the rodeo or a local bar. I also drive a minivan and keep my life as simple as possible. Thumbs Up [tup] I like to think of it as your tax dollars at work! Hey they use them for a lot worse stuff!

Dave I totally missed the thing about your back?  Owie man that stinks and you still went to work? Man I bet your beat when you get home. I sure hope it passes quickly!  Aggrivation you don't need! Probably threw it out carring that box full of Englishman!

Sean I have been sorting stuff in  that BV kit all day. It is really something. Resin bits and details, Very fine and everything looks like it will fit perfect. No warping or anything.  Right now it's on the top of the pile!

Frank those 109's are cool! I still say your work on the control surfaces beats the PE I've played with! Really something! Thumbs Up [tup]

OK, a few pics of my progress!  Sorry, no spinner pics yet.  Still deciding on the camo scheme and whether or not the spinner will have a spiral or be painted white.

The cowl insert has been installed and faired in.  Shot some primer on it tonight, and looks pretty good.  Just need to fill a slight depression on the starboard side then add the gun blisters.  The radiator flaps are painted, and ready to be installed.  I opened up the shell ejection ports on the bottom of the wing as they were present on the G-6 but the kit didn't have them.  Luckily, the G-10 wing I am also working on has them so it was just a matter of taking measurements and transferring them, then opening them up with needle files.  The wing received some primer, and now I need to fix a couple of tiny areas then it's ready to be glued on.

Wow Aaron looks like your credit card really to a beating. What did'nt you buy. Looks like you have enought kits to keep you busy for a long time. Then he springs like a cat upon its prey. So which one is first? The Cr 42 mabye?

In Italy there is good fun and food!

In coastal Texas Italy it seems to be sea food. Red Snapper, Scallops and Gulf shrimp!  In a Garlic lemon sauce. Looks Greek to me! Confused [%-)]

In Coastal Texas Italy there is really good Terra Massu and Chocolate vodka drinks! Chocolate Vodka? Is that Italian?

Anyways now in the proper RA model building mood I returned home to find this gigantic 4 foot tall box at my door!

No sooner did I open it then out popped Guy and attempted to raid my stash!

After some swift Texas Justice I st about cleaning up the mess!

And I mean I made a mess!

When I returned home on my doorstep was this huge box.

Sean, great looking job on the Cant so far and that wild west photo is way cool!! Thumbs Up [tup]   Not sure if I would get away with calling my wife one of the red light ladies though.  Black Eye [B)]

Aaron,  Forget the deam machine man.  I saw this and thought it would be the perfect scheme for the clog.

No polka-dots on the G55s yet.  Put my back out saturday night and spent most of sunday in bed.  I tried to get up in the middle of the night on saturday for a drink and got stuck half way out.  Had to wake up the wife to help roll me back into bed.  Sheesh, how embarrasing is that.  Of course,it was in good enough shape to go to work today.  Sad [:(]

Cool picture and great progress Sean!

Yep I set my 251 over to dry for the night and am presently caressing and smelling the raw resin goodness that is this kit!  Everything is proceeding as planned I am going to have to give it a good cleaning as there is much mold release agent on the parts. Almost like a grease coating!

Frank is making me up some scooby doo stickers and I am going for a Mystery Machine look with the colors!  Since no figs were included (cheapo kit makers) I am adding a couple of McDonalds Happy Meal Scooby Doo Characters that look close to the right size!

Frank is sending stuff from the old Mystery Machine kit and flower power decals from a 1/24 VW Bug!

This is going to be a nice break from trying to be so exact and researching those old Black and White Pics!  You and the daughyer look quite western.

Just for fun -

The Topic of Gunfighters came up in another part of the forum. Gave me a flashback of when I was one. Here is a picture of yours truly with one of the "Local Red Light Ladies" (my Wife) waiting for the show to start. By Gawsh I believe that is the only picture of me with my wedding ring other then the wedding pics. If you look down the street you can see "Back Shootin dirty John"  loading his pistol.
