Hey, wellcome back Trabi. Up far north you can stay outside late and do all the spray painting you want, eh? Smile

Cheers from Canada

Thanks for comments CN. The straw was fashioned from Woodland Scenics Field Grass, which is a natural hair of some sort. It's too thin from the bag and in 1/35 scale, looks like what it is, hair. I started by adding small tufts of the "hair" to the netting, then using tweezers seperated the tufts into 3 or 4 hairs to get a decent thickness stalk. These were trimmed to length and fixed with thinned white glue. The wheat buds were added by applying white glue to tips of these "stalks". After everything was dry, several washes of Burnt Umber and Burnt Sienna were applied followed by drybrushings of a golden wheat color. I was happy with how they turned out and might be using this technique again in the future.

 Thanks again for checking in

I like it. What did you use for the camouflage? Is it real straw aor cut offs from a broom?

Did a quick paint job on the figures, mudded up the running gear. Gonna call this one finished(not really) but considering that the end date has passed by nearly a month, enough of stretching the extension. Photo's of the last ditch efforts...

Thanks for the comments CN and the wee bit-o-extention on the finish line.

Spent the night in the paint booth and got the decals on. Got a few photos for the efforts.

Next up will be alittle camo added to keep those pesky T-34's from locating the crews position.

 Thanks for checking in

The assembly of the Tristar flak 38 was abit difficult as the holding pins for the elevation rings are plastic. The gun itself compared to the DML offering is lacking in both PE options and extras such as ammo cans. The chassis would also benefit from a few PE items too, such as the external rifle racks and width indicators. I did replace these with LR PE indicators. On the plus side the chassis running gear is nicely done and the RB tracks are great. Nice detailing and they take styrene cement readily.

The Tristar gun crew set was a mixed bag. The moldings are soft and require a good deal of clean up, but the fit of the gunner was nearly perfect. The extras such as personal gear was absent. The extras that were included were a single magazine and two ammo cans. One opened and one closed, both poorly molded. The helmets were replaced  with ones from DML.

Still have more sanding to do on the figures before paint, but the Luftwaffe HT is headed for the booth.

Thanks for looking

I've assembled the lower chassis and drive components to the 251. I plan on building this one pretty much OOB, with just the addition of crew equipment. It's been awhile since I've built an AFV based on the 251 chassis, and IMO, AFV Club has done a very nice job of updating the Ausf C.

So far, the MP40's recieved lead foil slings, gauges provided by Archer transfers, and a good dusting of Rembrandt pastels provides the weathering for the drivers/RO area. I was forced to cut and use the rear section from the upper hull. The kit provided piece was warped badly. I'm currently fitting the fold down sections and have minor fit issues so far.

We are not on tight schedule here Smile. If you need few more days/weeks take your time and finis it. It is a hoby mate, not some job with deadlines Smile.

I'm thankful we're not on a deadline. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still planning something for the GB. Got a photo of the planned project.

I'll try and keep the photo's to something managable. Looking forward to getting started and sorry again for the change up and the delay.

Sorry to see you go Sherman111.  What censorship are you talking about? I am not here much so I don't really know if there are any politics or such.

Cheers...

Great work on the wood grain of the mount. Really looks naturally weathered. The rusted iron mounts also are over the top. Got to hand it to ya Panzerjaeger, you have to have a light touch with the drybrushing, I'd have knocked half the PE off with my heavy handed approach. Great work!

Thanks Richard!

Had to work on cleaning up from having a bunch of trees taken down this weekend.

Still found some time to spend at the bench.

I decided to scratch build the Flak Sled because the resin one had too many errors.

This is the book I am using for reference;

Here are the pics so far, still need to add a few more details tonight.

Will post more soon!!!

Thanks Guys!!!

I got the primer on it last night.

Everything looks OK just a couple of blemishes to sand out after the primer dries.

I'll give the primer a couple of days to dry and shoot paint, then I'll post some new pics.

Next up is the ammo trailer.

Nice job on the Gepard Richard!

Sorry for the delay in my Opel project (Life has a way of getting in the way!).

I finally think I have the Flak gun ready for primer, just a few tweaks tonight, then primer.

Let me know if you see anything to change...
