After the foot or so of snow that fell today, "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...."

DOWN TO FIVE DAYS!

Hehehehehe.  Starting to poke at the gift under the tree.  It doesn't make any sound, taunting me.

Thanks mph, I just noticed your comment!

I've been out of the loop for the last week +. I had surgery on my foot & have been on crutches. I don't have any leg room under my bench so I haven't been able to model.

BUT ... it will be all better by next week so I can shove my kids out of the way and beat them to the tree!

Where in Texas are you going?  Coming to San Antonio to Lackland?  If so too bad I leave for NY Monday for the rest of the month.

Going to be just west of Fort Worth for 3 days, then in Dallas for three.  My daughter is flying in from Korea for Christmas, a week in Texas and a week in SC with my wifes side of the family.  Have a good time in NY, don't get snowed in, Whistling

Mine's in a pretty brown box, a razor blade should do the trick.

Problem with that is I'll be in NY or parts unknown for Christmas and won't get back till sometime in Jan.  Should I open before I leave or wait till I get back?

I don't know how to do a quote block yet.

The key here folks, and to the new members, you are required, repeat, required, to get a post up, with art, asap on Christmas day with your gift and any comments you choose. See what your buddies look like in PJ's, unshaven etc.

It's a great thing.

It's also a scary thing...  And I must say, at least you guys don't have a wrapped gift with the Disney Princesses all over it...I'll have to get a pic up soon..15 more days...in 8 minutes..

I'm going to Texas for a week so I don't have to look at it.  I'll only have a few days left once I return, then the paper will be flyin'.

Way to quiet in here boys! I'm assuming everyone is staring at a package by now, as I am. I think this is a great idea for a GB, and it happens to be my 1st SS too. Man, I'm just chompin' at the bit, I wanna rip that thing open and start on it NOW!!

Styrene - I like your scrowing of the Group Build badges w/photo of the model.  The big question mark for this GB is perfect.

My lovely nieghbor, who happens to work at the local post office, came over and gave me a package this morning. She noticed it at work and figured she would save me a trip, so now I join the rest of you. Staring at this box, trying to guess what it is. I've almost got the bench cleared and ready, and I'm pumped for whatever it is to be my 1st build of 2010. So, to my new found friend #%^(&, who happens to live in x#g8e$)g#, be advised the package has been safely delivered and is now sitting beside me, ticking away.

Happy Thanksgiving, fellow group builders.  As the day draws to a close, I think of all the things I am thankful for, a loving family, a spouse that puts up with me building plastic planes in the basement, a warm house and a job that pays the rent.  I'd like to add to that a community of modelers that come together, once a year, and share their love of modeling with one another.  I think several of us get as much joy out of shopping for our recipient, and than seeing their posts as they are forced to stare at the mystery box under the tree for a last a couple of weeks, if not longer.    For those of you that have not yet received your package, take heart.  Every one of you has confirmed to me that you have placed a small torture device in the mail to be forwarded to your recipient, where, upon arrival, it may mock them mercilessly until the joyous dawning of Christmas Day.

So my thanks to you, fellow modelers, for coming together once again and spreading the joy of giving throughout the community.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

Lucky or not lucky.
That is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler on my mind to suffer the slings and arrows of waiting for the packet to arrive or waiting to open it?

Laugh [(-D]

In other words: no packet arrived yet...

Got my package a couple days ago.  Let the horrible horrible season of waiting begin...

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

Got home last night and noticed a mysterious package sitting on my front door.  For a minute I was excited, then I realized that I have 31 days left to open the package.  Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]

Well, when I got in from work last night I found a note in my mailbox. Seems like someone (big fat fella dressed in red & white according to the witness) left it there. The note says I have to go to the local post office to collect a package that is too big for my mailbox. Now the excitement builds, palms start to sweat, toes get to  wiggeling, mind is racing. Then it hits me like a freakin' A-Bomb. Because I'm working on a project in a mill that's located half way to the next town, combined with winter driving conditions (yup, it's here) and the hours our loyal posties work, I CAN'T PICK IT UP 'TILL NEXT MONDAY!!!!  OH, the humanity!! I don't know what to do...pull out all the hair I have left?...break into said post office in the dead of night?...silently curse the devious fella that sent it because somehow he knew this would happen?...or just go with it and enjoy the mounting enthusiasm?  Oh my my

Speaking of which, when I got home late last night, I discovered a mysterious package upon the kitchen table where the wife had placed it.  Apparently it had been delivered by a mysterious stranger clad all in black, who offered forebodeing omens, the box itself clad in glistening mithril, suspicious rustlings emanating from within.

So, under the tree it goes. :)

Okay, all the stores are decorated and playing Christmas music till my ears bleed, it's cold outside (well a little cool), seem like we went right past Thanksgiving.....looks like the season is in a hurry...can we start now? Angel [angel]Big Smile [:D]

I'm sure I'll be happy with my prize, hopefully my gift-ee will be as well.  Too bad we can do one of these monthly for birthdays but I'd go broke quick.

I got a huge package in the mail today, with two separate wrapped boxes inside.  I'll be a confused wreck by the time the 24th goes by.  But a happy one.

Just gotr home from playing a little golf and low and behold a package sitting on my doorstep paitently waiting for me.  Oh the humanity of this GB and now the wait till the big day. The guessing has begun of what it can be. Thanks SS, still dont know who its from so now the guessing on who its from also comes into play.

Happy birthday swinger by the way, and you still cant open the box.

I must say I love coming home from sea to a new package waiting on the table. However, I can't open this one until I leave and come back AGAIN. Now THAT sucks.

Got a package today.  Not ticking or anything.  Not sure yet what's in it.  It's November 19.  That is only a bit more than a month to wait.  I can do it, I know I can, I know I can ....

Shipped my box of rocks to the unlucky recipient today, just barely on schedule as usual.
