I started work on my Hind today! Here are some WIP pics

Just a small update today have the SA-4 missles done

Tracks are next and I am real slow on them so therer wont be an update for awhile

balta1- Looks like your off too a good start, plus it doesn't look like have had to do alot of part cleanup. I was checkin' out my T-72, and long story short I have my work cut out for me.

Great to finally see a vote for badge #1, for awhile there I thought I was the only one that liked it.

Sherman1111- Your 'Ganef' is coming along nicely! Those missles look great, just one question what kind of glue are you using?

Just Thick, thin  cyanoacrylate glue, everyting is resin, and the more i work withthe resin  the less I like plastic.

I hope everyone surived the "upgrading" of the FSM site and forums. I might have been a casualty of the change because all mosts have this weird computer code added to all of them and their pretty mcuh unreadble. Hopefully it will get sorted out soon, if not the mods are gonna get an earful.

As for the GB vote, last I checked it's 2 votes for Badge#1 and 4 votes for Badge#2. Vothing will remain up for a bit, because the forum change has probably given some people(including me) a hard time.

How did we get 5 stars all ready?

Ok question and hopefully an answer.  Soviet ardmor s overall dark green 9or shade there of) In the Afghan war was there any camo patterns??? If so would something like dark green over dark yellow combo have been used (Syrian type).  If anone knows please lemme know.

Wow. this new forum sux. Anyway, I like badge #2 better but if I may make a suggestion. In the small size, the lettering tends to get a little lost in the background. I think it would rely help if you could add a thin border of white or yellow around the lettering to give it a little better definition. It looks fine in the larger size but that is not real practical to use. Just my .  I will vote for #2 either way.

M1Carbine- Soviet armor in that time period used a color that wasn't really universal(a mix-match of greens were used), thus it's difficult to describe and many different shades were used. But you could use MM Russian Armor Green or a dark green(may have to be lightend up though). As for the camo, I don't know the specific camo colors used(maybe one of my fellow 'bear trappers' can help you) but maybe these pics will help.

Got Hinomaru?- I'll see what I can do about the lettering, the funny thing is I was thinking the lettering was not the best color when actually making the badge. I'll try to improve the lettering shortly.

Sherman1111- Dang, your really builidng up that Ganef fast! Heck, you'll be finished before I even start.

Didin't get much done today hit the bottom with primer and aligned the rockets, Boy they are monsters. Id hate to have one chaseing me. Wheels and tracks next

Ok so Im off and running after finishing up on my last build.  here are some shots of the T62 progress.

So far the build is coming along.  Its an Older Tamiya kit and you can tell the molds are getting a little worn. I have had to do a lot of cleanup and repair a gnarly seam on the front glacis.  More to follow.

M1Carbine- Looks like your off to a good start. Can't even tell where the seam used to be in front. By the way did your kit come with indy tracks or rubberband ones?

Thanks MG, this is the older Tamiya kit so its got trhe rubber band tracks.  I have them streching now so maybe I can get a good sag out of them.

Those builds are both looking great! I've just received the 2 kits I'm building, and honestly haven't even opened the boxes yet...

I'm thinking I might just set the current projects to the side and start on the 1/72 Rog SU-25...

I'll go back to the others in about 3-5 years

M1Carbine- Well, it is a modern tank so you wouldn't need much sag if any at all to tell you the truth. Luckily on my T-72 I have track shrouds, so that will cover up most of the hideous rbberband tracks anyways.

HSteve- 3 to 5 years, yep that sounds about right.

Dave, insomnia is the best time to build our collective a$$ off..................LOL.  Like I did last night, heck the turret is finished, main hull is done, wheels are done.  Im just sant the out of the barrel.

MG, I took the tracks off the rack and they just bounced right back into the original size................LMAO

Ok I got some initial camo work done, kind of test if you will.  MG posted two shots of camo patterns used b the soviets in the war.  I made my best guess, mixed up some paint and went to town.  Let me know what ou think before I go hit it with some nato black patches.  I think I almost got the base color right on.

So being I go back to work tomorrow FINALLY.  I may have some shots tomorrow evening.

Wheels on....WoooooHooo.  Stil working on the barrel.  It is a nasty un-even mess, so if anyone has got an extra T62 barrel laying around the want to part with let me know.

Nice work on the roadwheels, but the rubber portion looks a bit shiny, you gonna dull that down right?

Thanks MG.  Yes I will dull it out, I took the picture right after I used the sharpie method to do the road wheels.  Still have a long way to go.  I got the DUSHKA parts done and they need to be assembled. once that is done I will begin weathering.  I am going to try and use the future method on this for the first time.  I want to see if the weathering and decals come out better.  When that is done Ill hit it with a final dull coat.

Hey all... it seems as if this build has started off on the right foot. M1 and Sherman seems to made some good progress. I'm sorry for my lack of updates; With the forum down and my camera away I focused mainly on building my 1/72 Italeri T-62... its my first tank build in like six years and my first at 1/72. Not too much trouble except for the track links; its not completely straight, but you can barely see it when assembled. I also gave it a quick weathering with desert yellow before attaching the upper hull. I primed the top separately and did a quick coat of alclad steel before starting with some salt weathering, which you can see in the photo below. 

I'll try to get some more work done on it before christmas. 

Oh also I picked up a 1/72 Ace BMP-1, so please add that to my list MG.  

Neu, I just dont get how you uys can do this scale.  Kudos to you but my big fat sausage fingers would just break stuff that small.  Looks great so far.

Ah I guess I never built anything bigger than 1/72 (other than some 1/35 stuff) so I'm used to it. When I say used to it, I mean that I have learned to accept that I break almost everything.
