Ha ha ha ha! A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum. Okay, not the Forum, but in the process of spray painting some kits. I've decided that, following the Tu-2, my next kit(s) will be an M-26/M-46 combo. I decided to take my last two rattle cans of OD outside to pre-paint what I've got. I step out of my three story walk up and look up and down the road. GREAT, half a block away (all of the first floors are businesses/restaurants) is a WIDE open spot, no doorways, no cars, light breeze, plenty of light in the darkening dusk. I'm 90% done and a car pulls up...
The guy HAD TO SEE ME! Here's this big tall fat white dude underneath a brilliant white lamp with shorts and at-shirt on when everyone else is shivering in pants and a jacket. He pulls in right in front of me, mid spray. I rattle the can for him so he can see. Three dudes get out, I rattle the can point to the parts and what I've got in my hand.
One guy says, "Oh, lacquer?" YES! YES! LACQUER! YOUR PAINT JOB IS NOW SHITE! (not having the necessary Hangeul I just kinda pointed at the paint can and his car). They all laugh and wander off.
Hoooooooo-kay!
I stepped FURTHER out into the street, where the wind was not predictable and finished the last 10%. I really hope he doesn't mind a rough dusting of Tamiya AS-6 OD Green (USAAF II) on his silver car. Really, I was TRYING to be nice! Some people shouldn't be permitted to breed.
Anyway, got the dragon wagon and the Patton pre-painted and awaiting assembly whilst waiting on the Tu-2...
