Scorpiomikey

hmmm, i was really hoping to keep this for just the cats. maybe i can follow it with a grumman birds? (any aircraft made by grumman)

No worries Mikey ,

I'm happy to stick to the original theme of your great Alley Cat Group Build ; I'm looking forward to building the F9F-8 Couger and the F11F-1 Tiger in the not to distant future .

Kind regards

Sorry Mikey, not trying to hijack your GB.  I still want to join in after I finish my Corsair for the Korea GB.  I'll just pick which one then, seeing as how I'll probably change my mind if I pick now.

Cheers,

Greg

Announcement:

OK looking at what people have got, and the building interesting im thinking maybe a september start date would go down better. This would give participants more time to get the full collection done if theyre going down that path.At this point ill leave it at January 2011 but like i said if there's sufficient response ill change it to September 2010.

Your feedback please.

Hey Mikey, September works for me.  I should be done with my builds for the Phantom and Korea GB's by then.  Would a Monogram F9F-5P work for this?

Cheers,

Greg

Hey Mike, it is the 1/48 Monogram F9F-5P Panther.  I thought I'd build an older kit to compare to my Hasegawa Corsair I am building.  I want to know if I am being over critical of the Hase kit.

Cheers,

Greg

Mike,

Ditto I think the longer build time would be easier on us slow builders too.

I'd like to come on in for this one if September's the start... Dunno with what though.. I've narrowed it to:

1/48 AMT F7F-3 Tigercat

1/48 Monogram F4F-4 Wildcat converted to FM-2 "Mildcat"

1/48 Testor's F8F Bearcat- Blue Angels "Beetlebomb"  (That's the Yellow "0" Bearcat that acted as the "enemy" for their act vice the Yellow SNJ "Zero" of the same name used during the Hellcat period)

1/48 Monogram F6F Hellcat -Dave McCampbell's "Mimsi II"

Okay,

Count me in on this Mikey. I'll be doing a F9F-2 Panther in 1/48 scale. Kit is Trumpeter. I may be a late September start but I'll be ready by then.
