Manstein's revenge

The Eduard 110 series is the best game in town right now...

many thanks Eric,I'm still on the fence between this and another ju variant, still leaning 110 since I've not done one yet.Ah decisions lol,at least I've got a little time before this gb kicks off to make up my mind.

Eduard has two boxings of the NF version...one is a weekend edition which is cheaper but has less "goodies" in the box and only one marking option...the more expensive one has all the bells and whistles and 5-6 marking options...I have several of these kits and they just can't get any better, IMO...there is no point for any other company to make a 110 NF in quarter scale, period...

It's looking a little dry outside so I'll bring the RAIN!  Put me down for a Specter or Puff (leaning towards the Minicraft AC-130A as I've built the H already).  Since it takes Frank a year to do a four bladed prop, how long will it take him to do all those turbine blades?

Ok I like all the badges but am liking Doogs howling moonbat bestest of all!

Trey/Manny: Great stuff guys! Looks like the Gekko is a popular kit.

Got the decals for my Widow yesterday and thinking about which porn I mean um ah NOSEART I want to use.

Sad to hear it's not that good a kit. Still I bought it and I intend to build it. She can't be worst than some of the limited run stuff like Classic Airframes I've built. Funny I think the last time I built a Revellogram classic kit the computer I was using was a Commodore 64......

Trey, those are beautiful!  I have both of those kits in my stash.  Very impressive.  I am itching to get an Eduard Bf-110G-4 myself.  I have a C model and the decals to make a RA Italian AF nightfighter that I need to build first though.

Lewbud, welcome aboard!

Cheers,

Greg

Thanks for the warning Manny. Guess I'll change I'll built it to I'll START it. She may end up turning into an American kamikaze before it's all said and done. Whistling

I hear all these horror stories about the Monogram P-61, but I built it as a kid and don't recall any major problems. I don't think it is just time passage either because I still remember several kits that gave me problems. Maybe its just a defense mechanism and my brain doesn't want to remember.

I like the bat in front of the moon badge too.

Hey guys, random question, what do the letters on the tails of marine aircraft mean? Is it to do with the ship they based on?

Hey Mike, the tail codes are squadron specific.  Such as WF is the tail code for VMF-513, WS is VMF 323 etc.  Sometimes in the modern era, they assign the senior squadron embarked on a ship's tail code to all the squadrons embarked.  That way, sometimes Harriers might carry a CH-46 squadron's code.  I hope that helps.

Greg

Erm, kinda, so all VMA-332 A-6's would be EA?

Yes, they would carry EA.  They were MR until they transitioned into the Intruder and they've been EA since, even on the F/A-18 Hornets.  Funny thing, before they were the moonlighters, they were the polka dots.  Looking at Korean War Corsairs, they had a ring of polka dots around the cowling.  That is the scheme in the current Revell F4U-4B (the old Monogram kit).  Useless trivia, yes I know.  I think I read too many Corsair books during the course of the Korean War GB!

We tend to remember our childhoods through rose-colored filters...I can barely remember the beatings my father doled out to me...they weren't as bad as the fit of the P-61, however...

Beatings from your father? A father?? Manny, I thought you were assembled from a kit at Officers' School?...

No, he was assembled from the corpses of dead commanding officers.

His "father" was the surgeon that put him together.

Well, black Friday sale at the LHS, so I went ahead and splurged.  The 110G-4 was just calling my name.  I'm going to try a night scheme 109G-6 too.  It looks real cool.  Less than a month to go!

Cheers,

Greg

I got it for $45.  Since I got it from my LHS, I didn't even have to pay shipping.

Hey guys. I might be a little late for this one. Just did a tally of the GB's ive got going, worked out a build order based on finish dates, this came in at number 7 of 8. Although its really 6 of 7 since 2 are the same kit and 2 are nearly finished. However i will be a tad late starting lol.
