Okay, I'm done with my F-19 converted to a two seater.  This will be in the Red Storm rising GB as well.

Nice looking bird,kg. I like the hint of the SR-71 in the cockpit area and the nose but it's quite small and compact.

Great to see another completed build! Smile I'll update the front page with your completion.

Cheers

Kg4kpg oh yes I like it a bunch looks worlds better than the one I built years ago, course mine was a single seater. The figures really add to the looks of the kit and  being a two seater makes it really stand out. Very well done indeed sir. Toast

Great looking builds everyone! I started work on the Testors 1/72 F-117. I primed and painted the wheel wells (which are rediculously small!) and he bomb bay! I finished the "office" added a Quickboost Ejection seat. One thing about this kit is that the Side cockpit switches are completely absent! I added some grey "dots" with a toothpick. I used Hasegawa's GBU-10's for this kits as the kit ones weren't as nice and I have a ton of weapons sets! Here are the pics:

Nice work Travis! My Tamiya 1/48 F-117 arrived mid week, just waiting on the CMK detail set. Big bird for 1/48 scale.

Keep up the good work, can't wait to see more.

Cheers

All,

KG - Great work on the F-19. I remember when that kit was first issued. No one knew about the F117 yet and there was great speculation about a stealth A/C. I just remember being amazed at the F-19's shape.

Travis - Nice work so far on the Nighthawk.

As for me the F-35 was finished about an hour before this post. Sorry for the lack on updates during the build. The kit went together well, no major or minor fit issues. I added a resin ejector seat shown eariler in this thread. The kit is the STVOL version of the F-35. However Panda supplied decals for the X-35 or the Air Force version. So I ended up buying a Super Scale decal sheet for an F/A-18 with VMFA-122 and painting a Marine color scheme of light and dark ghost gray. Anyway here are a couple of pictures.

started the F-117. Ill post photos tommorow.

The tamiya kit is BEAUTIFUL. im actually tempted to go out and buy another.

only problem ive found is the wings are warped. but that should straighten out with the flaps and lower wing surfaces.

Im having a hard time finding someone left open in CHCH who supplies rattle cans. So paints a wee way off. Some of you may have seen in other threads my idea for this one. Ill be painting it in the pre-production camouflage. Overall grey with a tan and isreali green camo pattern.

Ill be doing it as though it went into service painted like that rather than black. (i like black, but theres such a thing as too much black)

Sounds like a perfect excuse to start building the B-52I "Old Dog" in 1/72 scale that I've been wanting to build. Already have one in 1/144...just need to find a 1/72 scale kit that won't break the bank.

Yep. You should have seen the reaction I got when a former B-52 flight engineer was looking at my models...

"Cool, you build models? I do too!" Looking at case, "There's an FW 190, an P-51B, a....wait a damn minute just whatthehellisthat!!! They never built a BUFF like that!"

There's a reason I display the 1/144 scale "Old Dog" on a copy of the book, "Flight of the Old Dog." Makes explaining things easier.

I'm taking classes full time, but my Business Communications prof, who is an mil air enthusiast, is encouraging me to build a 1/72 "Old Dog" too, after I showed him some pics of the 1/144 one I built. I probably should take some better pix and post here, too. I build models to have fun, and building the "Old Dog", or any unusual aircraft, is what I enjoy.

Hey Ken, I admit I don't know too much about the B-52s, is this a fictional stealth model? I realside the 52s only went up to H, if it is then should be ok to add to the build.

It's from "Flight of the Old Dog", by Dale Brown. The "Old Dog" was a B-52H that had been extensively modified to be a flying test bed for stealth and ECM technology, as well as experimental weapons. It was not much faster than a B-52H.

Just got a Minicraft 1/144 B-52H kit with the Squadron B-52 Walkaround. As soon as I finish the MiG-15 for the Korean War GB, I start on the "Old Dog". Of course, finals are the next two weeks...

Good work, Mikey! Such a distinctive shape, I like the camo as we are usually used to the all black. It will be a while before mine shows up here but I'm waiting to see how she turns out.

Finally get to start my Predator. I heard that this is a good kit but the instructions suck. You have the option to build the RQ-1 (unarmed) or the MQ-1 (Armed). There's options for both that are not very clear on which is which. Very confusing. Thankfully I had help figuring this out. Here's a couple of pics.

While waiting for some small parts to dry on the MiG-15bis ROK that I'm building, I pulled out the 1/144 scale B-52H and started building the B-52I "Old Dog". So far it looks like an easy kit to build...except for the modifications. So far I have:

Washed and dried the parts...put the fuselage halves together...cut off the vertical stabilizer...filled in the holes in the tail for the vertical and horizontal stabilizers...cut the nose off and fitted a nose from a 1/72 F-4D, which happened to be a perfect fit and looks somewhat like the nose from a B-1B. I tried to take pics, but they turned out horrible. Darn it.
