Okay, 1/48 on both.

Hans von Hammer

No sweat, my friend.. I edited it three times, lol.. Photobucket's running a little slow for me on this rig and I had to switch computers twice to upload the badge ...

BTW, those two kits I mentioned are both 1/48th Revellogram...

In the Hangar: 1/48 Hobby Boss F/A-18D RAAF Hornet,

Put me down for a 1/48 Revell F-15E. Not sure the livery yet, but I'm leaning toward a 56th FG scheme...

Either the D-bubbletops...

or their P-47M camo...love the distinctive colors, and the NMF leading edges on the wings would look crazy awesome on an F-15.

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

It looks like Two Bobs knew this GB was coming. They have 3 sheets done up for USN Centenial Aircraft. F-18s and Prowlers in various stages of WWII USN blues. The Prowler looks pretty cool with the early Blue/Gray markings. http://twobobs.net/index1.html

QUESTION......are we limiting it to WW2 camo/paint schemes...cause I wanted to dress up a F-117 with WW1 lozenge camo....that would be wild.....

Those are pretty awesome! Though shame on the USN for not doing a yellow-winger!

Also, the Texas ANG dressed up an F-16 a few years back for their 90th anniversary. Hasegawa makes a kit with the markings.

There are no limits on the paint scheme and markings.  They don't even have to be real.  The idea is to make one crazy wild aircraft with truly awesome paint and markings, accuracy and authenticity are out the window on this one.

Go ahead and ink me down for Tamiya 1/48 F-117 in that Black/white splinter camo I was thinking for the Allison Mustang. I figured the Nighthawk needs more funny triangular shapes on it.

I think that the two ideas are just different enough that we could do them in two separate builds since your idea is a bit more specialized, and in my build, camo or even markings at all aren't necessary.  I'll probably spend some quality time later on with my 3D software coming up with a badge.  I have a couple of ideas.

 Hans von Hammer:

Here's a rough idea of the Group Badge I came up with earlier this morning for the GB I had in mind..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/HansvonHammer/Drawings/th_WW2CamoGroupBuild.jpg?t=1299789078

Mine was little different than yours, in that I was gonna make it modern jets (Meaning post-Cold War only)... Wanted to keep away from cross-overs that way, like when the F4U-4/5 was being redesignated as the AU-1 Corsair and AD Skyraider becoming the A-1 and grey over white vs overall Dark Sea Blue...

Putting the WW2 birds into modern grey isn't something I'd considered...

If ya want, I can tweak this badge a bit more to fit your build, Sparrow..

That said, I'll jump in with an F/A 18 and/or the F-4C Phantom.  Which depends on which kit has the most parts left in the box, as I have a tendancy to rob jet kits of interesting detail parts for WW2 birds, lol...

Heck, I forgot you were a graphic artist guy.. Sorry 'bout that..  I should be askin' YOU to help with my badges, lol...

But I don't know if adding my "Modern Jets w/ WW2 Camo" idea is far enough apart from yours to warrant it's own GB... It certainly won't right now, since this one has kicked off faster 'n Paris Hilton's panties...

Anyway, I'll see if I can get through this one, and maybe around mid-fall we can try it... Meanwhile, lock me into the Monogram 1/48 F-4C Phantom.  The F/A-18 is a bust as it's been parted out (forgot I helped another member with missing part for his Bug a couple years ago) and has no cockpit, seats or panel, aand I just don't care about jets enough to scratch-build all that, lol..

But the Double-Ugly is going to be a "mating" of two of the fighters that my Dad flew.. An F-4 Phantom in the colors and markings of a 343rd FS/55th FG P-51D...  Ho-ahh!

Should look good with everything that a well-dressed 55th FG's 50th Anniversary Phantom should have (if they'd have had one)... NMF wings, OD over NMF fuselage, black antiglare panel and invasion stripes, lol..

I've only seen the Testors kits.  I actually have their big one in my stash.  It's on loan from my Daughter.  So in other words, she filled up her closet and now is moving stuff to mine.  They are dirt cheap on eBay right now.  This is the big 1/32 and it only cost me $10 plus shipping.  Remember, the whold point of this buikld is to build something wild and cool, so accuracy isn't as important here as in most builds.

Ya know... It's be a great 50th Anniversary Diorama if I put a Mustang on the ramp beside it, on modern colors, with the Phantom crew dressed in WW2 gear, and the Pony Driver in modern flight gear...

If it's the Revell/Monogram F18 Blue angel, I have a TON of spare parts you can have, including complete cockpit assemblies.  Like I said, I had three of them that didn't work out, so you are welcome to any parts you may need, just let me know and I'll see if I have it.  I'll keep the F18 on my list as a possible.

That brings up another point.  We all know some people are more prolific about their builds than others so I am going to try and put a limit of 3 kits per builder.  So even us slow guys can keep up.  lol

Hey Hammer, you can always darken out the canopy on that F-18. Make it a gate guardian or something...

That sounds cool.  I was thinking after this build I had another idea.  A Kit Bash.  Pick two unrelated aircraft and mash them into one or two kits combining both.  LOL  that would be fun now wouldn't it. lol

I had done this F-16 a year or two ago.  It was Two-Bobs sheet on a Hase/Tamiya F-16 I mashed together.  Decals are for "Cripes A Mighty" Thought this was in the spirit of things:

Okay, scratch that. Put me down for a 1/48 Revellogram A-10...seems more appropriate.

If I'm feeling my druthers I might build a P-47 in A-10 green camo for a "Freaky Friday" theme...got a lot of builds on tap though...so...

Anybody know the difference, if any, between the Revell A-10 and the Revell of Germany A-10?

Seriously, the Revell Germany kits are usually reboxes of other companies older kits, although they've had their own line of kits since the 70s too.....

Revell 1/48 aircraft kits are generally ex-Monogram or ex-Revell US...
