Owl, can you add an Airfix S A BULLDOG 1/72 to my build. Found it in the stash, and need a reason to build it. May not be a Marine subject but it is called a Bulldog!! Yes

The Brits also called it "The String Bag".  Because it seemed to "stretch" to meet mission requirements.  Big Smile

Owl, got a few GB commitments currently on the table, but the running time on this one may allow me to sneak another one in once they are finished. So, that being said, you can put me down for a 1/48 Tamiya Mk.II Swordfish.

MAJ Mike, the front page has been updated with your entry. You are the first non-aircraft participant! I Googled pics of that monster. Its a big tank that dwarfed the soldiers standing next to it. I'm looking forward to seeing it built up. Do you plan on adding a figure to your build to show the scale?

That's why I thought it would fit the GB specs.  No production models were ever fielded.  Good idea about the figure.  I could do that or pose a Sherman or a T-34 by it for size comparison.

Anyway, thanks for letting me join.  I've displayed that awsome (in this case the word is justified) GB badge with my profile.  This'll be fun. Toast

Tongue TiedOops  Went back and read the rules about the GB badge.  No need for further explanation.

This'll be fun. Big Smile

 MAJ Mike:

I've got a Dragon 1/35th "Maus" that's been in the stash for about 17 years.  Would that work?  Huge tank/small animal label.

hmmm....that could work. While not a swimming/flying creature, there is a layer of irony in naming one of the largest tanks after one of the smallest animals. It is quite mismatched, isn't it?  OK, its in.

Thanks.  I guess I'm in.  I've wanted to participate in a group build.

Hard to resist the Badge.  What's the protocol on displaying the badge.  Does it go up after completion of the model or is it displayed while the subject is a WIP?

my tomcats started, but its only little bits. was spraying some white so i grabbed bits and sprayed them too. Nothing major.

cant wait for this to start. cant wait for this payday so i can get the colours i need to finish my knighthawk too. i might actually finish a kit for once rather than getting bogged down with 80% syndrome like always

alright, I have You down as TBA.

Oh and a bit of house cleaning here: I forgot the forum doesn't like " marks and it messes up the thread titles adding amp;amp;amp all over the place. Form here on out, try to avoid hitting reply on those posts so we can get rid of that.  thanks!

Ill put you down as a maybe, Gamera. You have a while to clear your schedule.  And it was decided to have the GB remain strictly with animals, so no gladiators.

Dang, with a build badge that cool it's hard for me not to join in. Curse you Kermit for tempting me!!! Wink

In all seroiusness I cannot commit now but since you're running for the year I might jump in sometime in the summer or fall if ok by you LadyOwl.

Had considered a 1/48th Roden Gladiator- ok not an animal but they were known more for their arena fighting than aeronatical prowness.

yeah, Im kinda debating that though. If I let you slide, Ill have to let everybody slide! Surprise

I like Revell kits. I built the A-10 a few years ago. It was a pretty nice kit if I recall. That's the same one I have planned for this GB too.

Hey no problem. I'll stick to the Tomcat and the Warthog. The Tomcat is started but not very far into it. Trying to concentrate on the Osprey at the moment so I can have it ready for our local IPMS show at the end of the month.

Ahhh that's true. Wasn't thinking about that with the Viking, but if you'll let it in cool. Also the A-10 is a Revell also (I really gotta get better kits in the stash.)

 Medicman71:

Hey Owl. Gonna change my kit. I wanna use my Revell 1/48 F-14A Tomcat that i'm doing for the Swing Wing GB. Also since this is a year long GB, my second will be a Italeri 1/48 S-3B Viking done in Centennial of Naval Aviation markings then if there's still time i'll add the A-10. Let me know if that's cool.

the kit switch is fine. Ive updated teh roster. the Viking isn't an animal per se....but they sure weren't known for their advances in aviation!  I'll let it in.
