It's getting a lot colder around here, and the fall shows will be wrapped up shortly...going to be time to get back into some Gundam builds. I think I may actually have my significant other (Mia) sufficiently interested to build one of her own!

Odds are it will involve pink of some sort, so I'm warning you now...Stick out tongue

I actually have been working on my Gouf. I'll put some pics up as soon as I figure out how! I'm getting close, I have to decal and weather, and then finish the weapons and I'll be all set.

Cheers Chaps Smile

Thanks for that link G - I wasn't sure about decals at first but now that I think about it I think I will. I could do with some generic Zeon insignia too. Well I've got till May and Big Zam is pretty much done too.

Chef - The Z'Gok  is looking good!  Looking forward to seeing it done.  If you want to put stencil decals all over the model, I recommend this:

http://www.hlj.com/product/GESSM-212

This is my favorite series to use for nonsensical gibberish stencils.  I use the white a lot, but the red comes in handy too.  I'm not sure if any product improvement has happened since I first tried these out, but the grey sheet is too translucent so it should only be used on white models.  The red and white are opaque though, and can be used on any color surface.  Bandai also sells Gundam-specific decals, but they go in and out of availability a lot.  There was a 0080 sheet, but I can't find it on HLJ's site at the moment.

Dr. Shrinker - Like Bsyamato said, I also noticed the original MG Gelgoog had weak knees and elbows.  Actually, the entire model's polycap system seemed to be inadequate to the task of holding the model up.  I think the Ver 2.0 addressed this, but nothing short of real linear actuators are going to help in supporting the honking huge shield if it is mounted to the arm.  Well, so long as your Gelgoog's legs hold up you should be OK.  What color(s) are you planning for your model?

That is one sexy Z'Gok.

bsyamato

Gelgoog at good point DR , and looks good YesYes

How are the elbow joints? i have the old mg too and these joints are really ridiculous (knee too) you'll fix it in whished position?

The knees are not too bad. The arms on the other hand dont want to stay where i put them. We'll see what happens.

I cannot find the battery charger for my camera so i dont have pics at the moment. I primed the model silver to try the salt technique for chipping. It didnt really go as i had hoped. But i'll keep going on the Gelgoog and weather it a bit more than i had planned.

Still needs a little more paint and then some weathering.

This is kind of sad while digging through the closet trying to find Char's Zaku, I also found a MG RX-78 and GM. I totally forgot that I build these guys. Here's a group shot.

GreySnake

Well I got the Zaku finished today. I admit its not one of my better models, my skills have gotten kind of rusty. Part of the fact is I really don't like the colors for it, the black, white and purple were kind of boring. But otherwise it was a fun build. This might be my last model for a few months or so I'm getting kind of burned out on modeling. But who know's I have a Zudah waiting to get finished. Anyway enough talking here's some pictures!

Looking good bsyamato Toast The Gouf has always been one of my favorite mobile suits for whatever reason.

All most done with the Zaku I progress is going really slow. Thought I would finish it up today but started doing some home improvement stuff and well one thing led to another. But I'm going to try to finish it this weekend I hope!

GreySnake

Real G thanks, and condolences for you as well.

Smeagol thanks also. Cancer is such a nasty thing, it started out in my dad's kidney and ended up in his lungs. He fought it for two years but the stuff was just to strong.

Grey Snake,

What an awful coincidence, my mother died of the same thing.  She had it for two years as well, but only got noticeably worse late last year.

Keep moving forward man, it is the only thing we can do.

You have my condolences as well.  I just today went to the funeral for my best friend's father who died of lung cancer.

Grey Snake,

My condolences go out to you for the loss of your father.  I lost my mother this year as well, so I know what you are going through.

Best wishes, and keep going forwards!

I have returned! Had to stop building for a few months, my dad died and had a pile of things to take care of. On top of that lost my job and had to hunt down a new one. But finally things have calmed down and I have some modeling time. Just one picture for now painted the purplish color on the Zaku 1 today along with the light grey color. Planning to do the black tomorrow.
