Every time i send CS an email "wait a little longer please be patient"

If I have to be patient through another month I will miss the deadline for this GB because we're moving around new years which means building anything isn't an option through Nov and Dec.

If its started and been sitting a while I think it qualifies for this build.

It's my Tamiya Kawaski ZX-14. I made excellent progress on it for this GB up until the body which I need paint for that's being imported from Japan. I ordered 2 months ago and I'm not sure if their mailing it via row powered dinghy or what. Been 2 months and it's still not here and customer service just keeps telling me to be patient. If I wasn't gonna move I'd be fine if it gets here in Oct, but the end date for this build is Dec 31 which is right when my workbench is scheduled to be in a U-Haul....

I wasn't even thinking of the end date.

I would hope that we could get another one going and if not maybe just keep this one going for a while unofficially or officially like the FLEET AIR ARM GROUP BUILD.

Mike, you are welcome to finish the build beyond the Dec. 31 end date if you wish.  I won't add more to builds/participants to the roster after that day.  As long as you started your entry prior to the "end date" you're good.   That cool?

Just a bit of progress this weekend (my own particular weekend) on the FSV. I have been concentrating on another couple of builds. I airbrushed on another coat of Future over the decals to even out the tone... much better now. All ready for a wash on my days off next week.

Thanks Mac. I think I will start on the washes and drybrushing next week on my days off on this FSV.  I decided to do a bit of work on my SBD today. I had cut out the molded in engine face ages ago and awhile back ended up using a  Quickboost engine designed to fit the Hasegawa SBD kits. Well it fit with minimal fuss, so I painted it up awhile back. But in spite of being a very sweet resin engine, it had no push rods (or plug wires). Its for the modeler to add those. 2 per cylinder and 9 cylinders on this engine. I cut one piece of styrene rod, test fitted it, then cut and test fit again as needed until it fit. then I cut out 17 more 7.5mm of the little buggers and began to super glue them in place. Of course no process can go flawlessly and a couple were launched by my tweezers to never be seen again. So I cut out a few more and completed the process...

I guess I never photographed the engine before today, so I have no "before" shots.

Stik, the engine looks great!  Nice work adding the push rods.  Looks fantastic.  Your painting is great too.  It really looks the part.

Thank you guys. But things like this are what keeps this build from getting finished... one good result leads to more brainstorming on the next little detail idea.

Hi guys, I would like to join in with a 1/72 Italeri Lockheed Putty .....aka Hudson!

This has been one of the worst fitting kits I have dome to date and the amount of filling /sanding I had to do on it made me put it away in the hopes that the model fairies would finish it up for me LOL!

It has been sitting idle for the best part of a year not and if it wasn't for an IPMS chalenge I would not have even started it again as I absolutey hate to fill and sand so much that allot of the detail gets lost :-(

This week I added the glazing, needless to say it didn't nearly fit, so sanded that and had to get the gloss back with 2000 paper and future.

Hoping to do it in WW2 RAF Costal command sceeme

Stik - It might have taken some time, but that SBD engine looks great. Just needs a wash or two.

Here are some photos of the Tamiya 1/48 Panther where it previously stalled. I'm in the mood the reattach the missing schurzen, and spray the sand component of the camo scheme.

Tax, I like the camo scheme on that Panther! And yes that Engine for the SBD is a little gem. My first from Quick Boost. It wont be my last.

Well I applied a pin wash to my M113 FSV this afternoon. I will go back and clean it up later this evening or tomorrow once it has dried.

This is about the colour I turn when I feel a tad "queeze" LOL

Aparently it is dark slate grey, go figure. Just the slightest preshading showing through.

Hooray for Mike!  Glad the Tamiya clear finally arrived.

Taxtp, I like the camo on your Panther.  One of my favorite German tanks.

Stik, that pinwash worked wonders!  Looks great as always.

I am still trying to find time to get to the bench.  I am getting really frustrated about that.

As usual I like your choice of subject and model Theuns. For some reason when I think Hudson I think of Dark Earth and Dark Green. Maybe it's from years of looking at the Airfix box art.

Here's the latest on the 1/48 Panther. I've just added the sand camo. Had all sorts of problems getting the airbrush to work consistently, ended up stripping it down and giving it a thorough clean and service.

Must have been a bit slack last time.

The next step is to add the details prior to weathering. I really should build more armor, so that I can develop a consistent weathering approach.

Thanx guys. Yes I totally agree that the dude who came up with the name slate "grey" must have been smoking something!

Acourding to the FS/ BS codes and colour pix it is relatively close to what I have there. The Italeri kit has one thing going for it, there are ample very nice decals ,6 aircraft infact and two of them are dark earth/green.

I just like the temperate sea sceeme a little better :-)

Not sure where I left off but I fixed the pitot that I broke off, attached the wheels and applied more paint as well as some decals.  I'm struglinging on the decals a bit because I have the 1984 boxing but lost the decals.  The decals I have now are from the 1991 boxing and of different aircraft.

I got the decals on the Hudson and like the rest of the model they do not fit either! Accourding to the instruction sheet they were applied exactly where they were supose to go, but the side roundal seems to be to big and the righthand code letters go over the one window, no other place to put them.

Ah well , I am almost done with it and just need the antennas and mattcoat.
