Don Hammer how about cross overs are they allowed ?

I am going to declare my first build, something a bit different, a 1/24 Monogram Gambler Sprint Car. Non wing of course, its a 1988 release. I do like wingy thingys but not on a sprinter.

I think you can count me in - I've got the old Monogram F-105 that I'm dying to tear into...

Count me in again! Since I'm not doing a huge one like the B-36 again, I have something that was conspicuosly missing in the last one: NASCAR!  I'm going to try to push two Monogram 1/24 Monte Carlo SS stockers through the inspection station. These are the old Notchback kits that Monogram put out in the early to mid 80's, and I have repops for Cale Yarborough's 1984 Daytona 500 winning Hardee's car, and Darrell Waltrip's 1983 Pepsi Challenger.

I found it there too!  Toast

I just checked mine and the copyright on the instructions says 1987.

I leave it up to you Don Hans!  Bow Down

Found your kit's boxing at Old Model Kits (plus an earlier boxing), but it doesn't state the year of manufacture..

Well, I mentioned Hasegawa kits in the Monogram boxes.. However, I think that if it's OOP, it'd qualify... Anyone know the year of manufacture and if it's OOP?

I'll take a look at it when I get home tonight. I did find a picture of the side of the box calling it kit #SO-14.  I doubt seriously that it's still in production; but until I get confirmation...

In God we trust...all others we monitor!  Cool

the real red baron

 Hans von Hammer:

 the real red baron:

Which kinds of revell kits would be eledgeable? Would the 1:72 BV P194 work?

Anything in here that DOES NOT say "Revell of Germany"...

http://www.revell.com/model-kits/index.html

 "Historic" Revell/Monogram kits..

http://www.revell.com/model-kits/aircraft/historic.html

IDK, Hans!

I know absolute nil about monogram & revell. A simple yes of no would be helpful. Wink

Yes.. Or no...Wink

I posted the link in order for you to look up the kit, RB...  I don't have time these days to look it up..

And to clarify, if the kit is actually a RoG release of a classic Monogram kit, then it's ok...  So, the B-26 Marauder and  Do 335 count, as does the B-24D...

 Hans von Hammer:
Also, kits from defunct companies that were aquired by them will also count! That means those Aurora and Hasegawa kits like the SE5A and A-4 Skyhawk will be included, and many others too!

Hans,

Since you reference Hasegawa would this old Me-262A kit count?

http://i640.photobucket.com/albums/uu126/RESlusher/HasegawaMe-262A.jpg

I'm not sure what the age on it is.  I can check this evening when I get some bench time.

I must show my loyalty to the family and to the Don, so I am in, and most of my stash would work. The kits are TBD at this point.

Some of the Revell of Germany kits are reissues of old Monogram kits. I have an RofG 1/48 B-26 Marauder that except for the decals , is the same Monogram B-26 I built many years ago.

What about a half finished Revellogram 1/48 P-51. It's at the point of attaching the wings and I had always planned on foiling it . With Big Beautiful Doll markings.

I've also got the reissued Revell ( really old ) 1/48 Vought Kingfisher I may throw in. OOB for nostalgia's sake.

Also have a "few" others in the stash that fit the bill.

Finish date?

Posted by Hans von Hammer on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 7:01 AM

Keep your eye peeled folks... The Offcial Monogram Mafia-Round Two (That 60s&70's Show *tentative*) will start in January 2012!  But with an even better list of acceptable kits! Round 2 WILL include Post-merger Revell, Pre-merger Revell, but that's not all!

Also, kits from defunct companies that were aquired by them will also count! That means those Aurora and Hasegawa kits like the SE5A and A-4 Skyhawk will be included, and many others too!

As always, armor, aircraft, ships, cars, space, and sci-fi are good to go, as are Drum roll please)............... CLASSIC KITS FROM OUT OF BUSINESS/OUT OF PRODUCTION KIT MANUFACTURERS!

That's rigt! Add HAWK, ESCI, ARII, OTAKI, etc...

All the kit from another manufacturer has to be, in order to be eligible, is OUT OF PRODUCTON...

So get out those dusty old kits that you've been saving since the 70s  and get 'em looked over for completeness..

More details to come, so stay tuned!
