Bill and Rob thanks you guys ! Glad to read your comments . This is my first attempt at this much scratch detail on an engine .

Bill the getting things aligned is the biggest part of building this model . I still see things that arent straight with each other but i'm not going back to fix them now .

Rob  i've never built Hobby Boss either but i looked up a review on the net and the Pershing looks good . I've been checking by the way . I couldnt find those MM figure paints at Sprue Bros. I'm thinking of looking at Valejo paints .

Well guys my youngest son and his daughter will be here thru the holidays and my oldest son will be here for Christmas sothis'll be a good Christmas . I'll be sneaking away and working on the jeep so i'll be checking in on the g.b. at least daily . When my youngest son leaves he'll be leaving his border collie and cat with us until Feb. of 2013 , 3 dogs and a cat . Thats a lot of fur and poop to clean up !

ANDY - Glad you are having good time on vacation.  Nice snag on that M4A3.

STIK - That looks Great Yes  Love that early gray color.  Now I want to really get started on mine.

WW2PSYCHO - Why don't ya go ahead and start?  Give Carl some building company Wink

CARL - The jeep is looking GREAT Yes  Really nice work Beer

I have never built a Hobby Boss kit.  Keep checking with Sprue Bros. because they may restock before the sale is over.

From what I understand, England, Christmas is more getting together with family / friends.  Now Boxing Day is more like what were use too, gifts, parties, etc..

Carl- Great work on the engine! Yes  Wish my car engine looked like that...

Rob- Nice gift from your daugther!  Enjoy your freedom...

Guys- Universal Stuido has been GREAT!  We were able to get on most rides and saw all of shows except for kids shows.  They provided sign language interpreters.  I am so beat after spending few days at the park so I will be chilling out for the rest of the trip.

STIK - Sounds as if you had some experience with that LVT (A) 1.  I look forward to building it.

BILL - Do you plan AM possibilities for your engine / jeep or scratch built?

CARL - Alone Yes.  The girls went to check and help out family.  They have not been doing well, not horrible just not good.  Going to try to take advantage of this time and wrap other projects up and get into this one.  My Sprue Bros. order should be here tomorrow Stick out tongue  What are you ordering?

Rob i was waiting for the Hobby Boss Super Pershing w/extra armor on the front mantlet , #82436 . looks like Sprue Bros . is out of stock on the M4A2 PTO also . No problem , i like to fret about my orders anyway ................

Wounder how they celebrate Christmas in England ?Gift Must be a lot less glitzy than we do it here in the colonies .

Ah! I want to start on mine, I need to do something different than aircraft, it kind of gets boring doing the same subject all the time.

Rob and Bill thanks for the feed back guys Yes

Bill , i never looked to see if there is a A.M. upgrade for this kit . a A.M. upgrade for this old kit with a resin engine and some P.e. would be great . Course , the price might be rediculouse , which would keep me from getting it .

Rob , sweet that kit your daughter got you . Wow ! Who'd of thunk it , how did she know ?Whistling Your going to be alone ? well except for your guard dog . You should have plenty of time to work on models then . Did you get your Sprue Bros . order yet ? I still havent ordered , one of the kits i want is out of stock .

Sounds good with lightening the color of engine.

Ensure we are talking of the same kit.  Just ordered kit # 6462, MARINES Sherman M4A2(W), Pacific Theater of Operation.  It had it listed for $23.99 for me, still real good price.  Yes was reading and looking at this one for about a month.  All the extras on it should make a really cool vehicle.

My wife does not look on here much but she does enjoy it once in awhile.  No need to clean up anything.  Think thats half the fun for her to see the crap everyone comes up with Wink

Rob , i think i'll paint the engine a lighter shade of that color so the weathering shows up better . Mix some white with or light gray with that color .

Did you look at the discription of the M4A2 kit ? It looks like a nice kit .

You said your wife looks at these post ?????? I think thats great but i better clean up my verbage .................Embarrassed

Now about ordering  that kit ..............fret fret fret ..........Hmm

STIK - The invitation will be there for you.  I do understand, all ready having commitments (thats the only reason for not joining your Veteran's GB Sad) but am just happy that you have contributed here with your great info and enjoy having you here, ThanksYes

BILL - SWEET buysYes

CARL - First things first.  That is some FINE work on the engine Yes  Hard to believe and huge improvement over the kit supplied piece!  Think the color looks good but depending on what colors used for weathering, may darken things more?  If the right colors are used though it may show off more of the detail.

OK second........was reading through and wife was looking with me (she likes to look at all of the builds from time to time) and we came across........M4A2 PTO for $19.99!!!!  That was on my Christmas list so wife went in and bought it for me (even though I told her no).  Also got the Dragon Bison II #6440 on sale.  She said she was unable to find them until now so have to tell you thanks for helping with my listBig Smile  Such a bad influence.

Have to finish up my Bren Carrier so that I can fully get in and ready for this build.  The first is coming fast.

NO FRETTING....When was the last time you bought yourself a new kit?  I say get it, can't beat the price.

Bill . cool . those were some good buys . I'm still looking at Sprue Bros. and thinking ........Hmm.......fretting ?

Figured i should post a pic of the jeep L134 engine . I'm not sure on the color , might to dark to show detail . But i plan on weathering the heck out of it like it looks in one of those video's on youtube so maybe it wont matter .

Carl,, SUPER,,,,,, thanks again!

Dragon recently had a sale too,,  I picked up a Bronco 1937 Saloon Coach (cool looking two-door town car) and a Dragon 250/1 NEU halftrack       $19.99 each.....     couldn't pass up the sale

I say, go for the M4A2             $19.99,,,,    can't beat that

Enjoy the ride!
