Hey guys I'm back and ready to get started up on those 1/72 kitties I left undone back in early Sept!  First I wanted to get caught up on all the great work that's been going on!  Let me say that you've done phenomenal work in the last 4 months!  Unfortunately I only got to page 100 before I ran out of steam, but fortunately Eric posted the completed builds on page 1, so at least I can start commenting on those:

Marc - Zounds!!  Not one, not two, but THREE completed builds!  And in three different scales no less!  All three are gorgeous and a tribute to your superb modelling skills!  I'm not sure which is my favorite, but my inspiration to get working on my 1/72 kitties is coming from your little KT!  Looking forward to #4 (big KT!)

Steve - Your Tiger I is outstanding!!  The distressed winter whitewash is marvelous and so is the matching tank commander!  The muddy base, tracks and suspension reminds me of the book "Tigers in the Mud" by Otto Carius!

Malone Duke - Another great Tiger I!  You did a beautiful job with that Tamiya 1/48 kit!  I need to start getting me some of those quarter scale kits!

Ben - And your's makes the Terrific Tiger I Trifecta!  At least so far!  Excellent work on that Dragon kit!  I love the three tone camo and your weathering!  The zimmerit really stands out!  Just a perfect looking Steel Cat!

Carl - Wow!  The work you did on that King Tiger is just amazing!  Actually I had been popping in from time to time last year and I remember all the fabulous work you were doing to spiff up that kit!  I picked up some great pointers from your posts, so thanks for that!  The finished KT is a work of art! 

Dave - Man, how great looking is that Totenkopf Panther!   Gotta luv that camo pattern!  Lovely work all around sir!

Bish - Beautiful work on that Befelswagen Panther!  I'm stoked that you went with a more esoteric vehicle...something we don't see much of!  I remember you mentioned that the turret was welded on, but did the main gun actually fire?  One thing though....every time I look at that vehicle it reminds me of the guy with the shrunken head at the end of the movie Beetlejuice!!

So I'm going to try to get caught up with the rest of the posts this weekend, but for now I want to get started on those four kits!!

I've no clue if this is how whitewash deteriorated on vehicles, but it certainly does look interesting.

Mark - l like the look of the cobblestone, it actually looks like cut stone compared to your first attempt.  The colours also appear quite natural and work very well.

Marc: Looks great! I assume you brush painted a few of the cobbles a different shade and then laid a dark wash over the whole thing? A little snow pile in one of the corners and a few patches would look cool.

Andy: The whitewash looks better and better in every photo you post. I love the rust streaks.

Marc, I like the damage you applied to some of the stones, just don't cover it up with the vehicle.

Guys- Thanks!  Keep in mind rust streaks will be toned down a bit after I spray a coat of flat clear so I can apply dark washes next.

Small update, but I finished the wheels. Hope to have some update tomorrow.

Decided to add a couple of figgies just to finish off the look   I have never heard of the brand of figures "Warrior" But they are nice.  Nicer still that my LHS is clearing stock and these 2 guys were a set for $12.  Time to stock up.

My attempts a some light snow on the street failed horribly.  Good thing I used white glue and not CA.

Love those figures Marc. Warriors is a noted brand in the figgie world. Wish i knew how to paint them. I love the one guy so far in the overcoat. Well done.

I also dig that barrel with the great weathering. Too bad there isn't a great way to make smoke coming from it.

Malone - excellent work with the PE.

Marc - I like those figures.

Here's a quick toot on how to paint those tiny waffenfarbe piping - in reality they are only 2mm in diameter, so scaling down it's really difficult to capture that with a brush stroke.  The piping on the crown should be the same colour as those on the cap band, and of the appropriate branch colour.

Instead of painting them individually, lay the panzer pink colour across the whole of the band, concentrating on only getting a crisp even edge on the top and bottom.   Now you can introduce the black colour for the band and at the same time create the appropriate thinness of the piping.  The crown piping can be done the same way, just pick one edge to be perfect, followed with field grey to touch up.

malone duke - I'm not sure which kit this is, it looks like a Panther G...1/72 Dragon?  I looked back over 40 pages but couldn't find a reference to the kit.  Whatever it its it looks great, the PE really bumps up the detail!

Jack - Great painting tips!  I'll have to use that the next time I paint figures.....or maybe WHEN I start painting figures!!

Eric - That camo looks PERFECT for a late Jagdpanther!  and you silvered the rims of the roadwheels....SPOT ON dude!!  BTW, are you using the kit tracks?

Marc: The figure look good and I love the busted up oil drum.

Eric: Nice work there, always liked the tiger stripes.

Ernest, I'm going to try using the magic tracks that I have in reserve. I test fitted to the sprocket and they seem a tad tight, so I'm a little nervous.
