tcepilot I am planning on extending the build so there will be time to finish your build.
Thanks, tcepilot. Unfortunately, I already committed my C-130E project to another GB. However, I may be able to join later with a different aircraft - probably an F-111 out of Nellis AFB. Have to finish another project first.
Cheers,
Russ
Well, I guess I've started the Navy F-4G and painted the True Details seats with a black base coat to sea what I'm working with. Now I have to figure out what to use for the face curtain handles. The True Details seats don't come with the loops.
On Ed's bench, ???
here are some more pics of the hercules
and now pics of my next build. the academy bronco
Cool, what kit did you build? I have the Airfix one waiting to get built.
i built the italeri kit of the ac130, a hard kit to find but my girlfriend bought it for me off ebay for £25.
can anyone help, i am building the academy 1/72nd scale bronco which needs weight in the nose to help it sit properly,it is going to need a lot of weight but there is litteraly no space to put any and the nosecone is the size of my thumbnail,
help me please
You can use modeling clay and small lead fishing weights ( Both found in Wal Mart) or any equivalent.

foiling finished...yay, i'd say never again but id be lying.. i think, God it took ages. started off a bit ropey but improved. No "weathering " applied as im not sure what i am going to to in that regard yet.

Building - WAH 64D
Wow. That looks gorgeous! A really nice NMF! It was definitely worth the effort.
Cheers, Clemens
small update as it seems quiet in here.
foil looks ace but looked "too good". so it was out with the scalpel to cut along panel lines and detail to accept an oil wash, and fine emery paper to give it a well scrubbed look.
what the real thing looked like.

not quite the same but as near as i dare go before going too far. realised its hard to take a good pic of foil in bad light too so they aint great i am afraid. the pics are live so clicking them will take you to my flickr if you want to take a look at the full res pics.

Wow! That's looking gorgeous, Talentless!
My favourite part, the decals are going on. the foil and weathering were sealed in with future first and will be resealed when decaling is finished.
what it looked like prior to papering, future and decals. I wasn't sure it was going to look ok.

but now they are going on I feel better about the foil finish.

these panel lines, handles and rivets are provided as a decal too, to go over the star one, but i think it looks better with the decal cut and pierced instead.

Kind of almost looks like it was chrome or nickel plated.
OOh, a chrome-coated plane!!! I actually like the look of it (even though it's a bit too shiny) . What are you planning to use instead?
It does look good and ill probsbly use it on a car or bike. But not for a couple of wing tanks. Reckon ill use mr hobby fine silver or some alclad flat aluminium or white aluminium. I have msnaged to stip it back to resin snd have reprimed them already. The tanks seem to vary a lot so i have a lot of wiggle room on the finish.
Alclad's Airframe Aluminium over a coat of gloss black looks really nice IMO...
Glued the wings of the F-4B/G together.
hi guys, sorry for being away for so long but my pc was on the blink. here is my progress since i was last on herei will need to get a new nose section for the b57 as i made a fowl up when fitting it, i forgot to check if it was straight or not. i will post pictures of all three when i have decaled them in a one go, so fear not. i will also post pictures of my other vietnam era aircraft when i can. that is all for now guys, have a nice one.
Nice work guys!
Luv the nighthawk hanibal. Are you hand painitng that camo!
hi
yes the camo is hand painted, i paint all my kits by hand.
Wow those are some big old wings to hand paint! What type of paint do you use?
Cockpit is done on the F-4G.
Really impressive work, Ed!
