It has a few small parts to give you trouble if you have sausage fingers but otherwise it is a nice fitting kit with engraved lines and it can be found cheap. I think I got it for $10 or less with shipping on ebay.
Great article you posted the link to Stik.
On Ed's bench, ???
68GT Thanks guys, There were a number of aircraft (A-6, A-4, RA-5) tested with green camo paint but all eventually went back to their original grey/white scheme.

That's a great looking A-37, 68GT! It's a cool looking plane, I don't recall seeing one before. Adding it to my wish list. Hopefully when I build mine it turns out as nice as yours!

I like that A-37, nice job!

just make a gif here
They were both gray and in green to see if the camo helped but it didn't and all the Navy Gs were designated back to being F-4Bs. They did have upgrades that were being tested for carrier landing and maybe a few other thing but I don't remember at the moment.
Here is my A-37B that I just completed. Its the Academy kit in 1/72 scale.
The US Navy F-4G predates the USAF by well over a decade. Essentially it was new avionics incorporated into the F-4B, primarily for a hands off carrier landing system, IIRC. Only a small number were built. And I think that they were not very long serving, but the systems were incorporated into the F-4J.
Great builds, 68! Well done, especially like the little Tweet! Just out of curiosity, why does the Navy have an F-4G, was it an experimental thing, like the brief green camo???
Those are looking good 68! My pitot tube came in the mail from Revell last week. But I am concentrating on another build right now at least for another two weeks. Then I will get my F-104 completed. I am so close but have a couple real life speed bumps coming up in early March that need to be handled 1st.
And a shot of the A-37 that is almost completed.
That is looking real good there 68! I have a 1/48 on in the stash to tackle one day. I look forward to seeing yours finished in here soon.
Nice progress on the 104.
Nothing new on the F-4-G but here is a shot of and academy A-37B I'm building in 1/72. Its really a nice little kit.
Yeah, and it always seems to be the 'fliers' that are the most difficult to replicate that go flying.....truly aggravating!! Arrgghhhh!!!!!
I was so pissed... I tore apart the surrounding area, but there were just too many places that it might have gone.... not to mention that it was in the late afternoon and light in there is not the best away from my immediate work area...
Dang Stick! Sorry to hear that.........I sent a lot of small bits to Neverwhere too!!
Well my F-104 is officially sidelined as of now. During todays airbrush session, I accidently broke off the pitot tube and launched it into neverwhere. I can not find it anywhere.... grrrrr... that will teach me to try to work on two models at the same time on my damned workbench. So I just ordered a replacement part from Revell. I hope it does not take too long to get here.
Thank you Dave. I am looking forward to your birds here.
Lookin' good, Stick!!
OK, here she is with the over spray touched up and some masking removed.
Next week on my days off I need to do some touch up in the speed brake wells wher the toilet tissue masking kept popping out under overspray airflow after drying I have had enough of airbrushing over the past several days...

Thank you Misty. I think that the 104 looks great in all its' guises- NMF, Gray, or Camo...
camo is lookin tasty!

Today's update. After looking at several photos of Starfighters in Vietnam I saw that there was a bit of variation in the camo pattern regarding the medium green 34102. So today I went back and touched that up before I added the Dark Green 34079. Now I just need to go back and touch up where there was overspray.
68, I cant say enough good stuff about that seat. It is a huge improvement over the kit part. I have been brainstorming the past few hours as to how to do the wash.
TL, and the seat came in pairs, so I have one more for my Hasegawa F-104C! I love these resin bang seats- such a huge simple improvement to almost every cockpit.
That's a great looking seat!
Gotta luv those aires seats. If your kit seat was as bad as mine then ANYTHING is better. Your one certainly looks the biz
I am waiting for the humidity to drop here today after last nite's rainstorm before I resume airbrushing. So today I worked on the ejection seat. The Aires C-2 seat is a real gem. I just need to get a wash applied to make the details really pop.
Before I started today's airbrushing session I finished up work on the IP hood, RHAW scopes, and reflector sight glass
and then it was on to the upper surface colors- Tan 30219 followed by Green 34102 before I ran out of daylight. My workspace light are not the best here so I will not paint tonite, but finish it up Monday I think. Busy day ahead tomorrow. sorry about the blurry photos but this camera is getting old and I can't tell how blurry they are until uploaded and that is a whole different exercise in frustration...

I know what you mean. I just started painting an A-37B in SEA camo.
