small update as it seems quiet in here.

foil looks ace but looked "too good". so it was out with the scalpel to cut along panel lines and detail to accept an oil wash, and fine emery paper to give it a well scrubbed look.

what the real thing looked like.

not quite the same but as near as i dare go before going too far. realised its hard to take a good pic of foil in bad light too so they aint great i am afraid. the pics are live so clicking them will take you to my flickr if you want to take a look at the full res pics.

You can use modeling clay and small lead fishing weights ( Both found in Wal Mart) or any equivalent.

Well, I guess I've started the Navy F-4G and painted the True Details seats with a black base coat to sea what I'm working with.  Now I have to figure out what to use for the face curtain handles.  The True Details seats don't come with the loops.

tcepilot

I am planning on extending the build so there will be time to finish your build.

Thanks, tcepilot. Unfortunately, I already committed my C-130E project to another GB. However, I may be able to join later with a different aircraft - probably an F-111 out of Nellis AFB. Have to finish another project first.

Cheers,

Russ

I am too dumb to handle a brush properly. That's why I spray everything except those tiny things I can't mask Wink Seriously now, I try to avoid brush-painting as much as possible, as I'm new to the hobby and I have more control with an airbrush IMO. I think i get better at painting small stuff with every model I build though. That's also one of the reasons why I like to use the pre-painted Eduard PE sets for my aircraft cockpits....

Yep, all of that is brush painted so far. I like to brush the interior but airbrush the exterior. Some time I airbrush both.

thanks for the help most appreciated

the previous pics are the interior of the hercules, i need to get a lot better at taking pictures . lol

i have now glued both halves together with the interior and sannded the join lines on the wings and the body. i should have checked the fit of the wings first as i will have to open up the holes for them.

more to followBig Smile

Pick the second line down which is for a direct link.

If you are looking at the photos in the album mode then you actually have to highlight and copy the line.  If you have clicked on your photo in photobucket you will see a larger image and the same menu to the right of the photo.  In this mode you just have to click on it and it will automaticly be copied.

Then with the link copied you click on the icon for insert image above and paste it into the URL box.

Ahh whoops - I just saw this build ends in August. That wouldn't give me enough time to finish. So disregard my request Smile

Ok guys. Even I cant make the August date, I will extend this GB from the continued interest. There will be plenty of time to build for everyone.

I'd like to join this one with a Huey in 1/35! It is the model from Dragon (reboxed Panda kit). I'll add CMK's cockpit and cargo room sets (the interior of the Dragon kit is really poor...)

You won't see anything from me 'till early July though. I have some projects to do first.

Cheers, Clemens
